I have two daughters, [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (6) and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] (3), who we have intentionally called [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] since before they were born. We want to continue this with our third daughter who is set to arrive in late [name_u]November[/name_u]. We happen to be stuck on her name.
Our options are simple - either she’ll be [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] “[name_f]Katie[/name_f]” or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] “[name_f]Maddie[/name_f].” Obviously, as she grows she will not be forced to use the nickname however this is what we plan on calling her 99.9% of the time. Which do you prefer and which do you think sounds best with my other girls’ names?
I like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Katie[/name_f]’ best. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]’ is nice, but I’ve just never liked the sound of [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] as much as I like the sound of [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. Also, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] has more nickname options so that if she ever wants to be something other than [name_f]Katie[/name_f] she has a choice (like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] do) whilst [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] feels more stuck with the nn [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] to me.
My vote is for [name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as well. I love the name [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] but I don’t love [name_f]Maddie[/name_f].
fun fact: my name is [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], always go by [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but I often got called [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] as a child because I was such a little “Madam”
Wow, both are lovely names!!! You can’t go wrong either way. I’m torn, I like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] more than [name_f]Katie[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] more than [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. I think my vote is slightly more towards [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] just because [name_f]Katie[/name_f] ages better. Best of luck!
I agree that [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is made for [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and the same with [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], and [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] are nice, but for some reason I could never really get into them like I love other Mad- names (like [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] and [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f]). I do think [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] all work really well together, too, but there’s something about [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katie[/name_f] with your others.
[name_f]Katie[/name_f] is perfection with the sister names! Like the older two, it is truly a timeless class. [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]'s popularity is more linked to this time period.
Please not [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]…it’s so unappealing. And even though [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is a beautiful name, some might assume she’s a [name_u]Madison[/name_u], God forbid…
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katie[/name_f] is AGELESS, like your other daughters’ names.
[name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], & [name_f]Katie[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], & [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].
All timeless classic. I can imagine sisters with these name in 18th century as easily as in the 21st.
I like both [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] but, I don’t like the nickname [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]. So [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] “[name_f]Katie[/name_f]” would be my choice!
I prefer the friendly [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] with approachable, down-to-earth [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]; however, I much prefer [name_f]Katie[/name_f] with vintage [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
