Keavy- Too weird?

Lately I’ve been really stuck on the nickname Keavy for a girl. I have no idea where it came from or how I thought of it but I can’t seem to get it out of my head. So I have a few questions- [name]Do[/name] you think this nn is too weird to be used? What is your initial reaction? And can you think of any full names this could be for other than [name]Caoimhe[/name]/[name]Keeva[/name]? Please be honest, I wont get offended  Thanks!

Heavy Keavy is the first thing I see. [name]Even[/name] though I’m guessing you are pronouncing it Kee-vee, the teasing potential is there.

I agree that it looks like Heavy on the page. It sounds like a nickname for [name]Kevin[/name]. Reminds me a little bit of kevlar. I’m not sure I see the appeal? What positive things does it make you think of? Maybe there are other names with a similar feel for you?

I had a student name Okevian, but he was a guy. The thing with nicknames is that they follow the child, and rarely turn out to be what you envisioned. My daughter was [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Katie[/name] until she renamed herself [name]Kitty[/name] at fifteen, despite my only thinking of Miss [name]Kitty[/name] from Gunsmoke (an allusion that was beyond her, natch). I wanted my son to be [name]Tom[/name], after my grandfather, and he has insisted (since about five) that his name is [name]Thomas[/name], and that’s what everyone calls him.

So I wouldn’t sweat about nicknames. If she looks like a Keavy when she’s born, then that’s what she’ll be, regardless of her “real” name.

I quite like Keavy. Keavy [name]Lynch[/name] is one of the twin sisters of [name]Shane[/name] [name]Lynch[/name] (member of British boyband Boyzone) and was in the band B*Witched so I guess I’m quite used to the name: Keavy Lynch - IMDb

If you want to use it as a nn for something other than [name]Caoimhe[/name], how about something like:

[name]Kia[/name]/[name]Kiah[/name]
[name]Chiara[/name]
[name]Kira[/name]
[name]Keeley[/name]
[name]Keegan[/name]
Kavita
Kivana

Good luck!
