Siblings are still [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name]. Which of these names should we delete from our list and which should we keep?
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name] (my favorite but I am afraid that the sound might be too close to [name]Isaac[/name]?
[name]Oscar[/name] (Again, too close to [name]Isaac[/name]?)
[name]Nicholas[/name]
[name]Benedict[/name]
[name]Philip[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Phineas[/name]
[name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] - delete. Nothing wrong with it, itās just not my favourite - perhaps because I like [name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name] so much.
[name]Leopold[/name] - keep. A brilliant, handsome choice.
[name]Oliver[/name] - it depends. I love that it continues the vowel theme, but it is quite popular at the moment.
[name]Sebastian[/name] - keep. A good choice.
[name]Theodore[/name] - keep. Wonderful and handsome.
[name]Arthur[/name] - keep. I donāt like that it repeats the A initial, but it fits the set so well, and is so handsome.
[name]Atticus[/name] - I donāt know! It is a little close it both [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name], but if it is THRE name for you Iām not sure you should rule it out.
[name]Oscar[/name] - keep. Perfect! Continues the vowel theme, is so handsome and of the same style as your other childrenās names, and I do not think it is too close to [name]Isaac[/name].
[name]Nicholas[/name] - delete. It feels a little average to me compared to the beautiful, uncommon [name]Adelaide[/name] and the handsome classics [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name].
[name]Benedict[/name] - keep. It fits, and [name]Ben[/name] is great, but it doesnāt feel perfect to me.
[name]Philip[/name] - lacks pizazz, so Iād delete, personally. The nn [name]Pip[/name] is adorable, though.
[name]Felix[/name] - really excellent in the set. Keep!
[name]Phineas[/name] - keep. This is great too, although nn [name]Finn[/name] is popular (but handsome, too).
[name]Rufus[/name] - keep. Fun and vintage.
I think my vote goes to [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Oscar[/name] or [name]Felix[/name], but itās hard to choose!
Well I love [name]Finn[/name] too but I think it is too nicknamey and that [name]Finnegan[/name] and [name]Finlay[/name] are too Irish with our childrenās names, so [name]Phineas[/name] ā[name]Finn[/name]ā is great. [name]Phineas[/name] are definitely in our top 3. Thanks for your help [name]Auburn[/name]!
Thanks! I am curios to know why you would go with an O name if this were our last child? We will probably have more children, but I am still curios. :-)[/quote]
I think itās the vowel theme - you already have an a, e, and i. Of course, looking for a u name next time around would just be setting yourself up for trouble

thatās why would be pretty hard to find a āUā or āYā name that fits with your other childrenās names. ([name]Yuri[/name], [name]Ulysses[/name], [name]Uma[/name], [name]Yvette[/name] are all nice but donāt fit very well). I guess you wouldāt have to follow the trend with other children but [name]IMO[/name] it might look strange to have 4 different vowel FNs and then a [name]Ben[/name] or a [name]Gavin[/name] etc.
Okay Weāll see. I donāt really care about the vowel theme actually, we have just choosed the names we like the most and we will of course contonue doing that.
[name]Julian[/name]-- keep! so handsome and a perfect style match w/ sibs!
[name]Leopold[/name]-- delete. I like it but think it overpowers the other names. [name]Leo[/name] could work, though.
[name]Oliver[/name]-- keep! seems popular lately, but fits perfectly w/ the set
[name]Sebastian[/name]-- delete. doesnāt sound as strong as [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]-- keep! classic but unexpected, great with the set
[name]Arthur[/name]-- keep!
[name]Atticus[/name]-- keep if itās really your favorite, but I think itās too close to [name]Adelaide[/name] (at least if youāre in the US). Cool name, though.
[name]Oscar[/name]-- keep! another great fit, not too close to [name]Isaac[/name] [name]IMO[/name]
[name]Nicholas[/name]-- delete. this is a bit plain next to your other options
[name]Benedict[/name]-- keepā¦ not my favorite, though
[name]Philip[/name]-- delete. again, this would be a little plain in your set
[name]Felix[/name]-- keep, but itās not my very favorite in your set
[name]Phineas[/name]-- keep if you love the nn [name]Finn[/name]; I canāt imagine someone really being called [name]Phineas[/name] on a regular basis
[name]Rufus[/name]-- delete. I think of the handsome [name]Rufus[/name] Sewell, but to many people this is strictly a petās name
Favorites: [name]Julian[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Theodore[/name]. Such handsome names!
With [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name]
Keep:
[name]Julian[/name]: regal, handsome and very nice with your set.
[name]Leopold[/name]: another stately choice. [name]Love[/name] [name]Leo[/name] with your sibset and [name]Leopold[/name] is so sophisticated.
[name]Oliver[/name]: I love that this would continue the vowel theme
[name]Sebastian[/name]: getting popular but has the Shakespearean/British vibe that [name]Edward[/name] has.
[name]Arthur[/name]: so handsome!
[name]Felix[/name]: cool but classic sounding, love it with [name]Adelaide[/name].
[name]Philip[/name]: classic and masculine, love the nickname [name]Pip[/name].
Delete:
[name]Theodore[/name]: I love this name but the fact that [name]Teddy[/name] is a viable nn and you already have an [name]Edward[/name] (who can one day be nicknamed [name]Eddie[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]) is a bit disheartening.
[name]Atticus[/name]: feels trendy. Also is quite close to [name]Adelaide[/name] and also [name]Isaac[/name].
[name]Oscar[/name]: too close to [name]Isaac[/name], I think.
[name]Nicholas[/name]: seems a bit dull with the more romantic names your children have.
[name]Benedict[/name]: a bit too romantic maybe? Iām generally not a huge fan of this name for some reason.
[name]Rufus[/name]: hmm, I like this name a lot but if feels a bit hipster with your classic/romantic names.
[name]Phineas[/name]: also feels a bit too trendy/hipster.
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name] (my favorite but I am afraid that the sound might be too close to [name]Isaac[/name]?
[name]Oscar[/name] (Again, too close to [name]Isaac[/name]?)
Thanks everyone. About [name]Theodore[/name] with the nickname [name]Teddy[/name] - we would try to avoid [name]Teddy[/name] and use [name]Theo[/name]. And when it comes to [name]Leopold[/name] we would use [name]Leo[/name] on a regular basis. I love [name]Leo[/name] more than [name]Leopold[/name] but I think it is too nicknamey. [name]Leopold[/name] ā[name]Leo[/name]ā is therefore a better choice for us.
And oh, so far we have deleted [name]Nicholas[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name]. I am a bit sad about deleting [name]Oscar[/name], but I find it too close to [name]Isaac[/name] and it annoys me.
It is starting to feel like we can actually name this baby! 2,5 months left
[name]Julian[/name]- keep- lovely with the sibset
[name]Leopold[/name]- keep- as above- v regal sounding!
[name]Oliver[/name]- keep, although not the best
[name]Theodore[/name]- keep- fits really well with sibset.
[name]Arthur[/name]- keep- prefer others with the sibs
[name]Atticus[/name] (my favorite but I am afraid that the sound might be too close to [name]Isaac[/name]?- delete- I do like [name]Atticus[/name] but it sounds more trendy than the other names.
[name]Benedict[/name]- delete
[name]Philip[/name]- delete- a bit wet
[name]Felix[/name]- delete- not my favourite with the other names, although I do like it.
[name]Phineas[/name]- delete
[name]Rufus[/name]- keep- I love it but I know a lot of people will say it is a dogās name!
My favourites:
[name]Julian[/name], [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Rufus[/name] or [name]Theodore[/name].
Have you considered [name]Henry[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Julius[/name] or [name]George[/name]?
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] with your other childrenās names. Something about how youād have alternating 2- and 3-syllable names, and the first-letter vowel to fit in with his siblings, really does it for me.
I do think [name]Julian[/name] is a little soft compared to big brothers [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name]. All of your remaining choices are great though. Iām still a fan of [name]Arthur[/name]!!
Out of the 7 left on your list, i think the best fits with [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] would be [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Atticus[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Atticus[/name], but it does seem to start with the same beginnings as [name]Adelaide[/name] (since the "tt"s are pronounced softly) which may lead to confusion! Have you thought of the name [name]Abbott[/name] - another great fit with his siblings with the same feel as [name]Atticus[/name], but just altogether different the [name]Adelaide[/name]!
As you have mentioned, i personally think that [name]Julian[/name] is very soft and feminine, and doesnt fit well with the uber masculine [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name]!
