Keeva

What are your thoughts on the name [name]Keeva[/name]? I prefer this spelling since it is much easier to know how to say it. What do you picture someone with this name looking/ being like?

I prefer the Irish spelling because visually, [name]Keeva[/name] makes me think ‘skeevy’. So I picture a skeevy person, unfortunately.

ooh i like the name but spelled [name]Caoimhe[/name] the irish way. this may sound bizarre but i see a brunette [name]Keeva[/name] and a blonde [name]Caoimhe[/name] !!

I know a little [name]Keeva[/name], but I don’t care for that spelling very much either. Of course, getting the correct pronunciation in the US with the Irish spelling would be extremely difficult. I think that [name]Neve[/name] retains some of the allure of [name]Niamh[/name], but for some reason that doesn’t happen for me with [name]Keeva[/name].

I have never heard this name before - does it rhyme with [name]Diva[/name]? It makes me think of the charity [name]Kiva[/name] and (I’m really sorry to say this!) sounds more like a business or a product than a name to me.

I know a boy named this. Maybe it’s a girls name, but I just think of him.

I like [name]Kiva[/name] better as a phonetic spelling. [name]Caoimhe[/name] is my favorite spelling, but I’d never use it, because I’m not an ounce Irish.

I know [name]Alyson[/name] Hannigan named her second daughter that. I personally don’t care for it much.

I really like the name and the meaning, but I’m not a fan of the ‘[name]Keeva[/name]’ spelling. Something about the double ‘e’ bothers me and I don’t know why. I know that in the US, [name]Caoimhe[/name] would rarely be pronounced correctly, so I wouldn’t spell it that way either. I actually prefer the spelling [name]Kiva[/name], but that makes it a different name with a different meaning.

I don’t really like names with double 'e’s. What about Kieva or Keiva? I know some people might confuse it with [name]Keira[/name], but I like it a lot better than [name]Keeva[/name] or [name]Kiva[/name].

The only person I’ve ever known with this name is a little disabled girl who couldn’t talk, walk, or feed herself.
Also, I think of the charity organization kiva.org.
So sadly, it’s mostly negative, sad associations for me. I don’t hate it, I just can’t get those things out of my mind.

I love the sound and the meaning but the spelling throws me off. [name]Even[/name] though it’s a legitimate form of [name]Caoimhe[/name], it just looks made up. I wouldn’t use the original spelling though because no one in the US would ever pronounce that right.
