I recently met a [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] and the name has stuck with me. It’s not the type of name that usually captures my interest, but I like that it sounds like a smoosh of [name_u]Kerry[/name_u] and [name_f]Helen[/name_f], the names of two very important women in my life. So a few questions: Does anyone have some reliable information on [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]'s origins? What do you think of the name? [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] really date as fast as I think it will? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] or [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]? Thanks in advance. ![]()

I like [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]! As far as I know it’s an Irish name… here’s a wiki link to see a bit more info… Kellan - Wikipedia
I like it a bit better spelled [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] for some reason! I also like [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]!
I dont think it will date fast! I think it will become more know as more and more irish names/surnames are being used! I much prefer it to [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]!
I like [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]. Though it matches some of the trends of the time, (end in n, surname) I don’t think it will be dated to this time.
I agree with pp I like [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] spelling better and I slightly prefer [name_u]Kieran[/name_u].
I’m considering [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]/[name_m]Kellan[/name_m] as well. I like it but I’m wondering if it’s a little too unheard of and people will constantly think I said [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] or [name_m]Callum[/name_m].
I probably slightly prefer [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] but I know my other half doesn’t (haven’t asked about [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] yet).
[name_m]Kellen[/name_m] does sound trendy. Behind the Name links [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] to Caolán (via [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] and [name_m]Kelan[/name_m]): Meaning, origin and history of the name Caolán - Behind the Name
I love [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] (especially this spelling). One of my closest friends is named [name_m]Kelen[/name_m], so maybe I’m a little biased, but I have nothing but good things to say about this name. It does have a trendy feel, but it’s not super popular, so I don’t think it will sounds dated anytime soon. I slightly prefer [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] for my own personal tastes, but if you’re looking for a combination of [name_u]Kerry[/name_u] and [name_f]Helen[/name_f], then [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] would be perfect for you.
