Kendra?

I’m not sure what kind of opinions I’m going to get on this one because I’ve been told that some people find it tacky but I’ve really started liking the name [name_f]Kendra[/name_f].
I know the cutest little girl called [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] and she makes me love the name. She is the only [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] I’ve ever met so I don’t have any other associations with it.
What do you guys think about [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]?

I think much of people’s like/dislike of names depends on their associations with it. If you like it, use it. Then your family and friends association with the name would be your little one and I’m sure they’d love the name.

I do see your concerns though. [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] is one of those names my dh classes as a “porn star” name. But then again he says the same about [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] and there’s nothing tacky about [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]!

Personally I don’t like [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] because of the sounds. “[name_m]Ken[/name_m]” is very prominent in the name and I find it very masculine and “-dra” is just not a feminine suffix to me. For some reason whenever I hear a “-dra” name it makes me think of [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f], eugh!

But if you love a name enough, use it. It’s not the worst I’ve ever heard!

I really like [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s tacky at all, maybe just a little dated. I think it’s definitely usable & would sound refreshing compared to names like [name_f]Makenna[/name_f].

I have an older cousin named [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] ([name_f]Kendra[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]) and I used to love the name. [name_f]My[/name_f] three older cousins all had names that appeared on my lists, though haha. [name_f]My[/name_f] cousin and I get on great and everything, so no bad connections for me, however, I also know 4 other [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]'s and one girl with the MN [name_f]Kendra[/name_f], (all born between 1993-1995)so, it feels very tied to the 1990’s for me.

Regardless, it is still a lovely name  I think it should be freshened up with a unpredictable middle name - [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], etc.

All those comments were more positive than I was expecting - it seems like I was worrying over nothing!
I didn’t realise that [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] had been so popular in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u], I’d never heard it before in the UK until I met the wee girl I mentioned earilier.

To me, [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] sounds very 80s-90s because it was the name of my big sister’s close friend from high school back then. I don’t have any issues with it, though, and second [name_u]Haley[/name_u]'s suggestion of pairing it with an unexpected middle.

I like [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]! But I agree that I think it might be a little bit dated. I like the suggestion of pairing it was a fresh middle name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] best friend has a little [name_f]Kendra[/name_f], almost 4 years old. She is the CUTEST!! The name is a bit dated, but it’s still very useable!

It feels very 90s to me and somehow all the Kendras i know are shallow, dim-witted, kind of bitchy girls so i don’t have great associations with it
