[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] is an honour name to me and at first I wanted to use it as a middle, but I really am falling in love with it, so maybe use it as a first? What do you think?
[name_f]Kiara[/name_f] or [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] spelling?
What MNs can you suggest?
I prefer the Italian spelling - [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]. I don’t really like the K spelling. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite combo would probably be [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] or [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f].
I definitely prefer the spelling [name_f]Kiara[/name_f]!! And I think any name with softer consonants would make a great middle name!
For example, something like [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] feels a bit harsh, while [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] feels softer.
Even tho I have a bad association with [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] (someone I worked with, we didn’t get along at all) I still think it’s a great name!
One of my good friends is [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] and people never get the pronunciation right, but I would say that between [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] and [name_f]Chiara[/name_f], [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] is easier to pronounce. [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] can get confusing, especially for those who don’t know the Italian pronunciation.
I prefer the [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] spelling. I think [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] would get confused with [name_f]Kiera[/name_f] a lot. That said, it’s a nice name whichever way you spell it.
I feel like [name_f]Keira[/name_f] has the most intuitive pronunciation. With [name_f]Chiara[/name_f], some people might assume that it is said Chee-air-a, and [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] might be said as Key-air-a. I think that I actually know someone who pronounces it that way.
I pronounce [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] and [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] differently. If the name is pronounced with the Ch sound then I’d pick [name_f]Chiara[/name_f].
Kiara is one of my favorites, too! While I like the look of [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] better, I overall like the more guided spelling of [name_f]Kiara[/name_f] because I think there would be less pronunciation issues. If you are not worried about pronunciation, I don’t think it is a big deal to change up the spelling of an honor name.
