Kids I met while camping

I have been hiking and camping this weekend and on one of the trails, my husband and I got caught up in a school group of high schoolers. Heard a few interesting names in there. Then, when we got to the campsite, I heard some more and decided to share. I’ll post whether the kid is male or female and the ages I think they were. What do you think? I found these names pretty interesting for kids their age.

[name]Obediah[/name] – boy – maybe 15 – very old on this little blond boy
[name]Sterling[/name] – boy – maybe 17 – this one seemed ahead of its time to me as [name]Sterling[/name] seems like it would have been a very unusual choice 1995
[name]Cally[/name]-[name]Anne[/name] – girl – maybe 7
[name]Eden[/name] – girl – 2 or 3
[name]Arnaldo[/name] – boy – maybe 18
[name]Deonte[/name] – boy – maybe 5 (pronounced dee-ON-tay)
[name]Django[/name] – boy – maybe 9 – ahead of its time to me as I think [name]Django[/name] is really just starting to get attention
[name]Jacob[/name] and [name]Carmen[/name] – brother and sister – boy about 9, girl about 7 – this one seemed really mismatched

I really like [name]Sterling[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Carmen[/name].
I knew a [name]Sterling[/name] in middle school, he’ll be 19 soon.

I like [name]Sterling[/name] and [name]Cally[/name]-[name]Anne[/name]. [name]Obediah[/name] is very interesting.

[name]Jacob[/name] and [name]Carmen[/name] don’t seem horrifically mismatched, but I get what you mean. At least they’re not deliberately matched (I mean with rhyme or alliteration - yikes!).

[name]Cally[/name]-[name]Anne[/name] reminds me of a [name]Cally[/name] I know - [name]Callista[/name]-[name]May[/name].

I have a crush on [name]Sterling[/name] although being an Anglophile it’s not surprising that I like the name! I try to think of sterling qualities of character instead of the British pound. [name]Eden[/name] is soft and pretty, [name]Django[/name] is very unusual but great for a child of jazz fans and I like the exotic [name]Carmen[/name] too (although I know a male [name]Carmen[/name] who is Italian). There’s nothing like getting caught up with a group of schoolkids!!!Thanks for sharing, Dantea!

You’re welcome. I plan to camp a lot more now that the weather is getting nice so I’ll probably have more to share. I had [name]Sterling[/name] on my list for the longest time but decided to take it off.
