Kim and Kanye baby name revealed

If it’s true…

That poor, poor child.

Now I normally don’t get upset as I’d use the names anyways…but NOOOO I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]North[/name] especially on girl it’s been on my list for a long time. ugh. I’m still keeping it but still. I dislike both of these people immensely and they used a name I really love for that gender wah.

It makes me kind of mad in a way. I mean really the poor girl will be ridiculed with jokes about her name for the rest of her life. [name]Even[/name] her nickname [name]Nori[/name] doesn’t make it any better since it means seaweed (or is a seaweed)…I mean it sounds nicer than [name]North[/name] for a girl but really? Gross…I would not want to be named after slimy smelly green stuff that washes up on the shore.

And the poor girl doesn’t even have a middle name to fall back on!! I don’t even like [name]Kim[/name] or [name]Kanye[/name] but I certainly expected them to do better than [name]North[/name] “[name]Nori[/name]” (no middle name) [name]West[/name]!!

Maybe they should have just gone with [name]North[/name] Pole [name]West[/name] haha.

I still do love [name]North[/name] for a boy though…the way it should be.

Can I ever relate! My son’s first name is [name]North[/name], as well. (He’s two and named after his great grandfather who was also named [name]North[/name]. No directional last name, either.) I’m absolutely sickened by this news. Before today, I loved his name, thought it was unique, rugged, pure (not to mention the deep family significance for us). Yet, when we were in public this afternoon and I called out his name, I felt a bit embarrassed, linked to a B-list “celebrity” and a self-absorbed “artist.” Our unique, masculine name now seems trendy and feminine, qualities we were so desperately trying to avoid. My mother, who knows nothing about celebrities or popular culture, even called me to see “how I was feeling” about the news. Devastated! I cannot stand this couple. And they have now made a joke of my son’s name. Perhaps I’m overreacting and this will all die down, but, for now, I feel as though my son’s name has been thrown under the bus.

I think that [name]North[/name] is actually a really unique and cool name… FOR A BOY! Not for a little girl with the surname [name]West[/name], that’s just ridiculous.

This is the comment I just put in the blog…

Speaking as someone who’s maiden name is [name]West[/name], this name has to be some kind of piss-take. Until I hear some reasonable explanation come out of [name]Kim[/name] or [name]Kanye[/name]’s mouths I will continue to think this is just another step in demonstrating how ridiculous this whole ‘celebrity’ family is. They are truly becoming a caricature of themselves and, honestly, it’s just simply embarrassing now. Very disheartening that they, in one foul swoop, destroyed the brilliant name of [name]North[/name]!

Can’t think of any other way to say it without being really really rude!!

I think you got plenty of rude in there, don’t worry. -_-

Stupid selection, completely dumb. They look dumb and unoriginal.

I think both [name]North[/name] and [name]West[/name] are nice names, but you should only pick one direction at a time. And everyone should have a middle name! [name]Nori[/name] is cute though.

Everyone jelly!

lololololololol

I still don’t understand the people who are pressed about them “taking” the name, but I suppose it’s what you make of it. I personally couldn’t have cared less had they used one of my favourite names, but that might just be me.

[name]Just[/name] for the kicks, I hope that a possible future sister will be called [name]Mae[/name].

My knee jerk reaction is to feel sorry for the sweet, little baby girl. But then I realize she is worth more money than I will ever set eyes upon my entire life and realize, she’s gonna be juuuuuuuuust fine.

[name]Love[/name] the suggestion it should’ve been Kita - a perfect compromise between the meaning he wanted and the K she wanted (anyone who’s watched the show knows she’s always wanted K names for her kids). Plus it’s Japanese, which [name]Nori[/name] is anyway. And it sounds more feminine. And it’s clever. Yeah, love Kita for baby Kimye!

But I prefer naming your child what you plan to call them i.e. naming her [name]Nori[/name], not [name]North[/name]. It’s different when nicknames come about naturally, or if the full name has a traditional meaning. But in this case, if they’re going to call her [name]Nori[/name], why not just name her that in the first place? (Though does it make anyone think of sushi?!)

PS I’m going to guess that ‘[name]Nori[/name]’ was the best compromise [name]Kim[/name] could come up with to counter [name]Kanye[/name]'s narcissism and control.

[name]Just[/name] for the kicks, I hope that a possible future sister will be called [name]Mae[/name].[/QUOTE]

I thought that too!! LOL

I thought the same thing! [name]Mae[/name] [name]West[/name] is better than [name]North[/name] [name]West[/name]! LOL

I am 50/50 on this one. [name]North[/name] would make a cute even smart sounding middle name or boy’s name like other forum members have mentioned but when combined with [name]West[/name] and being a female it’s not so pretty. The name suggests an institution ([name]North[/name] [name]West[/name] [name]Bank[/name], [name]North[/name] [name]West[/name] Security) rather than a person.

On the other hand I find it refreshing they didn’t try for a trendy or old ladies/cat names like [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Ray[/name], [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Jay[/name], [name]Lila[/name] [name]Rose[/name] or any name with son at the end.

I remember reading the news and wondering what Nameberry would be saying about it, ahha!

I love [name]North[/name] for a boy. It’s icky for a girl but not awful. But with the surname [name]West[/name]? I’m hoping it’s a publicity stunt.

Although the nickname [name]Nori[/name] is cute.

This seriously has to be a publicity stunt. I think [name]Kim[/name]'s just trying to kept herself in the spotlight by giving their child such a ridiculous name. She’s a celebrity for no reason! If she wants her child to be famous, then let her do it with talent if she’ll have any.
