hey y’all!
i know not everyone is a fan of double barreled names, and my liking of them fluctuates daily lol, but i’ve found recently that i like having a traditional name and then something more unique. i would love more suggestions, and to hear everyone’s opinions on these:
elizabeth-quartz (ellie-quartz, lizzy-quartz)
lila blair
cassie snow
cora gray
ivy james
anouk pearl
emma jean
elizabeth-quartz - I love both of these names, just not sure how I feel about them together, perhaps [name_f]Imogene[/name_f] [name_m]Quartz[/name_m] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_m]Quartz[/name_m]? I’m not sure, but [name_m]Quartz[/name_m] is so cool!
lila blair - a d o r a b l e !
cassie snow - cool and sweet, I love [name_u]Snow[/name_u]. Some pairs I have for it are [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Snow[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Snow[/name_u]
cora gray - perfect
ivy james - this is so modern and lovely. I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] would be the perfect sibset as well!
anouk pearl - BRILLIANT
emma jean - This one is kind of eh for me. Neither name is really catching my eye. I would go for maybe [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] or [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] instead.
Some weird double barreled names that I am fond of…
Elizabeth-Quartz - i am not at all a fan of Quartz, and i think that a double-barrel nickname would be hard to enforce
Lila Blair - i like it! i’d prefer it as a first-middle, but it’s pretty. i would also love Lila Jean!
Cassie Snow - i think that the sie-Snow pairing is sort of sing-songy and awkward to say
Cora Gray - fine and i feel similarly to how i feel about Lila Blair.
Ivy James - i don’t like James on a girl but this is totally usable imo
Anouk Pearl - would probably be assumed to be a first-middle combo (which I like it as!)
Emma Jean - “Jean” makes this sound like a classic Southern double-barrel and as a lover of Willa-Jean i like it!
honestly i think that double-barrelled names are fine, but if they aren’t recognizable as common pairings, people are likely to only use the first - ex. a Ruth-May or a Mary-Ellen is more likely to get called both names than an Anouk Pearl, even when hyphenated.
I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u], so spunky and fun! I also like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], they have such a sweet southern vibe! I love double barreled names, though I’m not sure I’d ever use one.
I love: [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] (sparky and bright), [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] [name_u]Snow[/name_u] (cute and bubbly), [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (gorgoeus!) and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]!
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] [name_u]Snow[/name_u] are my favorites. And I actually find [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_m]Quartz[/name_m] really lovely as well.
I dont understand double barrel names though. Is there going to be another middle added in? Does double barrel just mean you are going to always say both names because I dont think that works unless both names are really short and kinda fit together. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is the only one I can see being said together all the time but for some reason I’m not a huge fan of that one.
