I was reading a (Riveradale) Fanfiction the other day and one of the original characters was named [name_f]Kalliope[/name_f] but she went by the nickname [name_m]Kip[/name_m]. I’ve kind of fallen in love with [name_m]Kip[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_f]Kalliope[/name_f] (or maybe even Calliope), and I was wondering what you guys think?
Very cute and cool!

I think it works if [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is spelled with a K, but otherwise it’s kind of a stretch. I wouldn’t think of it as a nickname related to the real name if [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] was spelled the normal way, such as [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as a nickname for Sarah; besides starting with the same letter, there is no connection, vs. a nickname that is obviously related such as [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

I think it’s very cool! In my opinion it works with either the K or C spelling.
