Kira?

What do you think of [name]Kira[/name] [name]Blackburn[/name]? Is [name]Kyra[/name] (still pronounced like [name]Kira[/name], NOT [name]Keye[/name]-ra) or [name]Kira[/name] better?

[name]Blackburn[/name] is the surname? It sounds wonderful.

I have loved [name]Kira[/name] since I read [name]Ayn[/name] [name]Rand[/name]'s We the Living years ago. I think it is one of those rare names that manages to be simple and exotic, familiar and strange, at the same time. I knew a gal with a tame(ish) wolf who lived on her property in Alaska. She called the wolf [name]Kira[/name], and strangely it made me like the name even more for a human. Reinforced the image of [name]Kira[/name] as wild, dangerous but elegant and beautiful.

I prefer the [name]Kira[/name] spelling. I think [name]Kyra[/name] tends to be mispronounced KIGH-ruh.

I grew up with a [name]Kyra[/name] (pronounce [name]Keera[/name]). While I usually prefer the I over the Y in spellings, I vastly prefer [name]Kyra[/name] over [name]Kira[/name]. I like it a lot. [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Blackburn[/name] would sound nice.

I positively love the sound of [name]Kira[/name] [name]Blackburn[/name]. I strongly prefer [name]Kyra[/name], though. [name]Lovely[/name] name, always lurks without peaking, and great meaning.

[name]Kira[/name] for sure, if you live in the US and want it pronounced Kee-ruh. it’s beautiful with your last name!

I like [name]Kira[/name] pr. kee-ra. I associate the [name]Kira[/name] spelling with the Russian. I like the meaning, “sun.”

I find the y aesthetically not particularly appealing, and also lends itself to [name]KYE[/name]-ra.

[name]Kyra[/name] is a very old Greek name, meaning ‘of The [name]Lord[/name].’ In Greek it’s pronounced the way you want but in English it’s [name]KYE[/name]-ra.

[name]Kira[/name] is from Gaelic [name]Ciara[/name], pronounced the way you want. I do like the Irish spelling (I have a fear of the letter K, thanks to the Kardashians) but it does sound great with middle name [name]Blackburn[/name]. Great balance.

I like [name]Kira[/name] better than [name]Kyra[/name], but not as much as [name]Keira[/name].
