Would it be bad to have siblings named [name_m]Kit[/name_m] and [name_m]Carson[/name_m] due to the frontiersman [name_m]Kit[/name_m] [name_m]Carson[/name_m]?
iâve never heard of the guy, personally. i wouldnât find it odd (i also know nothing about the guy i must add)
Honestly I didnât know who he was until I looked him up. Itâs definitely not a great namesake, but I think most people wouldnât think of him. I still think [name_m]Kit[/name_m] and [name_m]Carson[/name_m] are a cute sibling pair.
Iâve never heard of him, though Iâm not in the US. I donât think it matters too much, although you might get some questions depending on where you live. I think [name_m]Kit[/name] and [name_m]Carson[/name] make a nice set (I love seeing [name_m]Kit[/name] used!).
I also know nothing about him, and Iâm also in the US. So I think itâd be fine, and [name_m]Kit[/name_m] and [name_m]Carson[/name_m] are a super cute!
Being in the UK, I donât know how many people would immediately make that association? When I saw them, I did vaguely recognised them together, but honestly, I only know because the name featured in a book (The Wayward Bus) and not because I know much about the actual historical figure.
If I met brothers with the names, I wouldnât go âah, named after the frontiersmanâ
I did immediately think of [name_m]Kit[/name_m] [name_m]Carson[/name_m] because I have seen a documentary on him. However I donât think most people would catch on.
Personally never heard of [name_m]Kit[/name_m] [name_m]Carson[/name_m] so I wouldnât make that assumption.
I thought of it immediately, but I might be lore familiar than most as I have a [name_m]Kit[/name_m] so am aware of the most famous associations.
Personally, I wouldnât use them together but I donât think itâs completely off the table.
I wouldnât. I knew the reference. But each individual name is good.
It sounds like it might bother YOU, which is really the problem. Do you have a child with one of these names and youâre contemplating the other or are you just thinking of them as a possible sibset?
yeah, i personally wouldnât do it! more than anything i think of the restaurant chain!
Did not occur to me but you can just introduce them as [name_m]Carson[/name_m] and [name_m]Kit[/name_m]! I love [name_m]Kit[/name_m]. What about [name_m]Kit[/name_m] and [name_m]Colson[/name_m]?
Iâm American, and have never heard of [name_m]Kit[/name_m] [name_m]Carson[/name_m] and would not have made any connection to it. That said, if itâs an association that really bothers you and always comes to mind when you think about the potential sibset, then itâs worth re-evaluating, even if others donât necessarily find it a âbadâ.
First of all, I didnât know who that is and had to look it up. After doing that, I do get why you donât like the association, but I think itâs fine becauseâŚ
- I donât think most people know who that is. I didnât.
- Youâre naming two siblings, not a first and last or first and middle name. It looks less intentional that way.
