Realized I’m a man and am renaming myself! I picked the middle name theodore fairly easily, but having a hard time picking my first name. Opinions and advice welcome!
I’d go with either [name_m]Ridley[/name_m] or [name_m]Kit[/name_m]! I think [name_m]Beau[/name_m] is too mismatched in vibe to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] but that’s just me.
They’re overlapping but different styles: [name_f]Kit[/name_f] is more [name_f]Brit[/name_f] storybook, [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] is a bit more out there and playful (more sci fi / nerdy cool), and [name_f]Beau[/name_f] gives a more straightforwardly outdoorsy vibe (either country or coastal/beachy).
[name_f]Kit[/name_f] goes stylistically best with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], I think. I like the flow of [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] best but I’m not sure about it as a name (full of riddles, rid in name). I prefer it as a middle. [name_f]Beau[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is smart. I prefer the name [name_f]Kit[/name_f] and the unexpectedness of [name_f]Ridley[/name_f], but [name_f]Beau[/name_f] is a good name that won’t divide the crowds!
Other possibilities (take or leave):
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] “Kit” [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] P
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] “Ted” [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] P
[name_f]Riley[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] P
[name_m]Wylie[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] P
[name_f]Jude[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] P
[name_m]Theo[/name_m] [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] P
[name_f]Brody[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] “Kit” [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] P
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
[name_f]Kit[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is snappy and cool! I like it [name_f]Beau[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has elegance and charm too!
I think all three sound great with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I have a slight preference for [name_f]Kit[/name_f] and [name_f]Beau[/name_f] over [name_f]Ridley[/name_f]. [name_f]Kit[/name_f] feels lively and sweet. [name_f]Beau[/name_f] is handsome and a little cowboy. I can’t decide between them but perhaps my thoughts will help you.
That makes sense! Thanks for your input
Wow! Thanks for such an in depth response! I definitely agree with your assessment of the vibes. [name_f]Kit[/name_f] I admittedly stole from [name_f]Kit[/name_f] [name_m]Connor[/name_m] though I also like it because it goes well with my siblings name. [name_f]Kit[/name_f] is also gender neutral to me which I like for safety reasons while I’m early in my transition. [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] I took from both [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] [name_f]Scott[/name_f] (I love alien) and the sea turtle Kemps [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] which is the smallest sea turtle species! The kemps ridley mainly hangs out in mexico but shows up in my part of the world (texas) quite a bit! [name_f]Beau[/name_f] to me is very southern in a cute and charming way which I like as a tribute to my home region though I do admit the ego involved in essentially naming myself handsome lol
I didn’t read this properly and missed the “realised” so I read it as “I’m a man” - meant some of the names I suggested are more traditionally masc and formal sounding than you might like (eg [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] & Edmund). Anyway, I like [name_f]Beau[/name_f] and you should see yourself as handsome! - but it seems to be quite a popular choice in the trans community? I might be wrong there and maybe it doesn’t matter just have a vague sense of this. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Scott[/name_f] could be unexpected and cute - do you have any overseas heritage you’d like to honour?
I don’t mind more masculine names! I like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], I just prefer something more out there. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is a little old fashioned for me. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] also makes me think of [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_f]Pevensie[/name_f]. Personally I’ve never met a [name_f]Beau[/name_f] in real life, only hearing the name in movies and such. I like names that are familiar but not common. [name_f]Scott[/name_f] is definitely cute (it makes me think of [name_f]Scott[/name_f] McCall from teen wolf), I’m just not drawn to it for some reason. And no I don’t really have ties to my heritage, my family has been american for so many generations those connections have been lost and I don’t feel a need to try and remedy that. The closest I’ve come to honoring where I’m from is the name [name_f]Ridley[/name_f] as I’ve already explained but that’s honoring my Texan heritage. Thank you for such involved responses!
Here are some other names I like that I think fit on your current list (take or leave, of course!):
Beckett/Beck
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_f]Spencer[/name_f]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Conall[/name_m]
Kieran/Kiernan
Good luck!
I like kit but I prefer [name_f]Beau[/name_f] and [name_f]Beau[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
