Kit

Besides [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] & [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] (and names similar to [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]), what are some long forms for [name_u]Kit[/name_u]? I love this name! Maybe [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]-[name_u]Kit[/name_u], as a hyphen?

Kittredge

Katinka, which is related to [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] but 1) less common 2) makes more sense with [name_u]Kit[/name_u] imo
[name_u]Beckett[/name_u]
[name_m]Kermit[/name_m] :stuck_out_tongue:
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Kingston[/name_m]

Some are very stretch, I know.

Hi there.

For girls I like [name_f]Katia[/name_f], [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] or [name_u]Cricket[/name_u]…even though [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] may be too silly.

For boys I like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] & [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] again. But I think that [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] could probably work?

Hope this helps.

Besides those already mentioned, maybe:

Kitrina
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Katalin[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrine[/name_f]
[name_u]Katriel[/name_u]

Castor
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] names? ([name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Leonard[/name_m], etc, because cats)
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]? (Again, because cats/lions)

I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] too, but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] either. I think just about any K name works, especially if there’s at least one i or t!

Kristen / [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f]
[name_f]Kismet[/name_f]
[name_f]Kalista[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitana[/name_f]
[name_m]Kian[/name_m]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_u]Killian[/name_u]
[name_m]Kaito[/name_m]
etc.
Also there’s always [name_u]Kit[/name_u] on it’s own! Though I know it’s hard to commit to.

I like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], my my surname REALLY rhymes. Like, it’s two syllables & the first syllable rhymes with “kath”, & the second “rine”.

My associations with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] are my transphobic father & my best friend’s abusive ex-boyfriend.

So, basically, I could never use either.

Lots of excellent choices have already been mentioned, but I also like [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] and [name_f]Katia[/name_f] with [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as the nickname. I also definitely think that [name_u]Kit[/name_u] works as a standalone name.

Bump

I said that I couldn’t use anything like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m].

I have an [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and tried so hard to make [name_u]Kit[/name_u] work, but no one (including my husband and daughter) would go along with it. So he’s [name_f]Atty[/name_f] now. I think there are people on here who have made it work in real life but I found people were scratching their heads about the connection between name/nickname. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to be aware of if you’re considering it. I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] so much, I hope you find something!
