[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’m currently trying to limit my boys list down to a top ten, and I’m having such a hard time! I’m only trying to pick out first names at the moment, and have the following list:
My least favorite would probably be [name_m]Penn[/name_m], mostly because it reminds me of [name_m]Penn[/name_m] [name_f]Jillette[/name_f], whom I find pompous, smug and annoying.
Sorry, I didn’t read your original post right. I would get rid of [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_m]Penn[/name_m]. I know you said one, but my reason for disliking [name_m]Milo[/name_m] is that I find it highly obnoxious. So I’ll go with [name_m]Penn[/name_m], because it only makes me think of the writing utensil and pig pins.
It’s tough. On the one hand [name_u]Brady[/name_u] is still the [name_u]Brady[/name_u] Bunch to me, but probably lots of people have never heard of the [name_u]Brady[/name_u] Bunch.
But my least favorite name is [name_m]Miller[/name_m]. I will say naming your baby after your beer is step up from naming your baby after your gun, but I picture [name_m]Miller[/name_m] as a little boy that belongs to one of The Duck Dynasty guys. (Not so much the guys on the show, but their kids.)
(I apologize in advance if [name_m]Miller[/name_m] is a family maiden name, that might be enough to sway my vote to [name_u]Brady[/name_u]. But people, who don’t know you, like college admissions officers might think [name_u]Brady[/name_u] is better name than [name_m]Miller[/name_m]. [name_u]Brady[/name_u] at least sounds to me like he’s going college, not so much [name_m]Miller[/name_m].)
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] (absolutely love. Spunky, versatile and fun)
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (I love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]! Sweet and fun)
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] (I’m really warming to [name_m]Declan[/name_m] recently. So Irish and quirky, yet strong)
[name_m]Bram[/name_m] (prefer this as a nn for [name_m]Abram[/name_m], but I still really like it!)
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] (see [name_m]Declan[/name_m])
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] (I like it - different and fun)
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] (I like [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], but [here in Australia at least] it’s SUPER popular [and has been for years] so I feel like every second boy is called [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m])
[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] (really like it, but worry that poor little [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] would constantly be plagued with spelling and pronunciation questions)
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] (not really my style, and I also worry about the growing popularity of [name_u]Reese[/name_u] on girls)
[name_u]Brady[/name_u] (I don’t really like any Br- names for some reason - it’s a bit irrational)
[name_u]Emory[/name_u] (I worry that it would constantly sound like the uber-popular [name_f]Emily[/name_f] as it’s so uncommon)
[name_m]Penn[/name_m] (I think of this as a girl’s name - specifically as a nn for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f])
Best of luck!
I love [name_m]Penn[/name_m], [name_u]Emory[/name_u] and [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. I dislike [name_u]Brady[/name_u], it seems rather boring compared to the other names.
I was really torn over which I liked least out of [name_u]Brady[/name_u], [name_m]Miller[/name_m] and [name_m]Penn[/name_m]. In the end, I dislike them all for the same reason. These are surnames, not first names.
[name_u]Brady[/name_u] – I just have bad experiences with a boy named [name_u]Brady[/name_u]. That, and I find the name very childish sounding.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] – I don’t like nickname names. I would like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] fine so he has something to grow with
[name_u]Emory[/name_u] – [name_m]Just[/name_m] makes me think of a fingernail file. It’s a fine name though
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] – I don’t like many occupational names
[name_m]Penn[/name_m] – I prefer this as a nickname
[name_u]Brady[/name_u] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] are my least favorite. I hear [name_u]Brady[/name_u] a lot in my area and it just never felt special to me. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] because I prefer not to use nicknames as given first names. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is lovely, though.
[name_u]Brady[/name_u] - it’s cute but just doesn’t feel that substantial. Mostly makes me think of [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_u]Brady[/name_u] (NE Patriots)
[name_m]Bram[/name_m] - I kind of like this, but again, it doesn’t feel that substantial, and I just think there are better names out there/on your list.
[name_u]Emory[/name_u] - I like this name actually, though I prefer [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] for boy [name_f]Em[/name_f]- names.
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] - surname.
[name_m]Penn[/name_m] - this name doesn’t really appeal to me. Nothing fun about saying it, just sounds like the word pen, and makes me think of [name_m]Penn[/name_m] and Teller.
In the end I would probably get rid of [name_m]Miller[/name_m] and [name_m]Penn[/name_m].
I’d strike [name_u]Brady[/name_u] ([name_u]Brady[/name_u] Bunch), [name_m]Penn[/name_m] (Got a pen, [name_m]Penn[/name_m]?), [name_m]Miller[/name_m] (snooze), [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] (poor guy has no land?), and perhaps [name_u]Emory[/name_u], as well (emory board). I love the rest of them, though!
A wonderful list of very handsome boy names. I personally would get rid of [name_m]Bram[/name_m], [name_m]Miller[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], and [name_m]Penn[/name_m].
