So I was watching a home show tonight and the lady whose house was getting renovated had a little girl named [name_m]Koa[/name_m]. I think it’s a lovely name but do you think it would also work for a baby girl.
I only like it for a boy
I prefer it for a boy, but it’s a nature name so I think it could work fine for a girl
I think almost all nature names are or should be unisex, including [name_m]Koa[/name_m]! I prefer it on a boy but I don’t see why it shouldn’t or couldn’t be a girl’s name.
I like it for a girl!
[name_m]Koa[/name_m] is a Hawaiian name, and therefore off-limits if you don’t have Hawaiian ancestry. More to the point, it’s a Hawaiian boy’s name. Appropriating it for the wrong gender is doubly inappropriate. This would be a heavy burden for a little girl to bear.
I think it’s cute for a girl. The only time “boy” names bug me for girls is if it has a masculine meaning. For example [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], I wouldn’t want my daughter to have a name that means little king.
I think it would be fine, I can see it on a boy or a girl.
