Kristen or Chrissy?

S/O has vetoed Christina, as he says he can’t see us having a little girl with the name, but we both like Kristen and Chrissy, with him preferring Kristen and me preferring Chrissy. I like Kristen, but not the Krissy spelling, and S/O likes Chrissy, but prefers a longer name.

Which do you prefer, Kristen “Krissy” or Chrissy?

Thank you!

I prefer Kristen as a name, but I like the Chrissy over Krissy spelling. Not much help, sorry! My favourite nicknames for Kristen are “Kitty” or “Kit”.

What about Christine?

Agree. I think [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] is lovely and you can still call her [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] as a nickname but she has the option of something that sounds a bit more formal and professional.

[name_f]Kristina[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Christina[/name_f] for some reason has a totally different feel to me so wondered if that was an option.
Otherwise I don’t think there’s any problem using [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] but nn [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f], it works for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Katie[/name_f]!

I would go for [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] because it gives her the option of using a more formal name when she’s older. I see no reason why you couldn’t spell the nickname as [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] - I think nicknames can be spelled whatever way you like.

(Oh, little me was obsessed with the name [name_f]Christina[/name_f], so I’m sad to see it go!)

[name_f]Kristen[/name_f] “Chrissy” feels like the best of both worlds! After all, nicknames aren’t always spelled intuitively.

I really like [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f]. It’s sweet but strong and I enjoy how it looks

[name_f]Kristen[/name_f] gets my vote! And i think you could still use the [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] spelling (like Catherines nn Kate!)
What about [name_f]Christen[/name_f]?

Hmm, I never thought about the Catherine/Kate thing, it does look kind of jarring to me, but maybe I could come around to [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] nn [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f]?

I don’t mind [name_f]Christen[/name_f] or [name_f]Kristina[/name_f], but S/O wasn’t keen. He doesn’t mind [name_f]Christa[/name_f] though, which I think could grow on me?

Thanks everyone!!!

The K seems dated.

I love [name_f]Christiane[/name_f] or [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f].
