My boy list. I like unique names but not completely crazy. I have a very mainstream name, so I always hated being [name]Jessi[/name] S. I also have a slightly different spelling than the norm so it often got misspelled. I think a slightly different spellings can be nice, but I don’t want anything butchered too much spelling wise. I know someone who recently named their baby girl Jurney [name]Skyy[/name] and I think that looks pretty ridiculous. [name]Just[/name] looks like they can’t spell.
Kuyper Grae - Pronounced [name]KY[/name]-per [name]Grey[/name]. The Grae spelling is in honor of my little brother, [name]Brae[/name]. I love that Kuyper is unique, but I don’t feel like it’s too crazy. Have any of you ever met a Kuyper / Kyper / Kyeper / etc?
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] - I’m torn on the [name]Crew[/name] / [name]Crewe[/name] spelling, but I don’t think I could go wrong with either. I think the ‘e’ on the end makes it look more like a name and less like just a word. I always liked the name [name]Toby[/name] / [name]Tobias[/name], but both are too popular for my liking. So I think [name]Tobiah[/name] makes a nice alternative.
[name]Brenner[/name] [name]Cael[/name] or [name]Brenner[/name] [name]Kai[/name] - I really like the name [name]Brenner[/name], but there are so many [name]Brennan[/name]'s, [name]Brendan[/name]'s, etc., so I’m worried it’ll become too popular. My other little brother is named [name]Brendon[/name] and I like [name]Brenner[/name] as a way to honor him. I like both [name]Cael[/name] and [name]Kai[/name]. I think [name]Kai[/name] may flow better, but it’s pretty popular these days.
What are you guys’ opinion on these names? Like? Dislike? Thoughts?
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] is really cool, and I’d love to meet one! I actually that either [name]Crew[/name] and [name]Crewe[/name] would work well.
To be honest you’ve already listed three alternate spellings for Kuyper, and that to me screams trendy/made up and people can spell the name however they fancy. When I first the title of the post I actually thought ‘Kuyper Grae’ was going to be a Kre8ive version of [name]Cooper[/name] [name]Gray[/name] and not a different name altogether. I just think if there are that many spellings for a name that is already made up (unique) then it’s not a good idea. [name]Cooper[/name] Grae would be fine, I don’t like the look of Grae but as it honours family then that is fine.
Again, if you’re worried about [name]Brennan[/name], [name]Brendon[/name], Breckan and other Br- names then I wouldn’t use it. I think [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Cael[/name] would adorable, I don’t like [name]Kai[/name] too much, it’s very downmarket in the UK. Also, the liklihood is that little [name]Brenner[/name] would be shortened to [name]Bren[/name], therefore blending him into the sea of [name]Brennan[/name]'s, [name]Brendan[/name]'s, Bradndon’s etc.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] would definitely be my favourite!
Thanks for the feedback, y’all. Kyper (or however you want to spell it) is actually a very common last name, but I’ve never heard it as a first. Kuyper is also the name of a university in Michigan. So, it’s definitely not made up. I’m just trying to figure out which spelling makes the pronunciation most clear.
I had no clue how to pronounce Kuyper (would have guessed “Cue-per”). He will ALWAYS have to spell his name out for people. Kyper gets across the pronunciation you want (I’ve never met anyone with that last name, but I’m sure they’re out there), but it makes me think of a sci-fi novel and the words hyper and cyber. (I can picture him explaining his name, “It’s like ‘hyper’ but with a K.”) What about [name]Kyler[/name]/[name]Kylar[/name]?
[name]Brenner[/name] puts me in mind of [name]Max[/name] [name]Brenner[/name]'s Chocolate Cafes (delicious!), but I think the name is nice. [name]Brenner[/name] [name]Cael[/name] sounds a little better to me than [name]Brenner[/name] [name]Kai[/name].
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] is the nicest [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Crewe[/name] is a great name (I like it without the e, too)! I think the sound is better with [name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobias[/name], but I understand wanting to stay out of the top 1000. Perhaps you’d like [name]Tobin[/name]? [name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobin[/name] or even [name]Tobin[/name] [name]Crewe[/name] sound sweet.
[name]Brenner[/name] is cute but if you’re worried about it blending in with Brendans and Brandons then I would skip it. [name]Crew[/name]/e is the best you have listed here I think but I don’t think that either [name]Toby[/name] or [name]Tobias[/name] is popular. [name]Tobiah[/name] looks made up. [name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobias[/name] is really handsome. I would never pronounce Kuyper as Kyper, I thought it was meant to be [name]Cooper[/name] like pp said. If you like the sound of Kyper, then spell it that way. I don’t really see the difference between Kuyper and Jurney sorry to say.
Hello and welcome it was interesting to read about the names on your list. As a general rule nameberries go into a tail spin if people start giving their children ‘yooneek’ names because as you say it makes these parents look uneducated. It is nice that you want to honour your brothers.
Did you know that the name [name]Grey[/name] is becoming popular right now and is regarded as a handsome name. I would strongly suggest that you change the spelling from Grae to [name]Grey[/name] I think it makes a stronger statement and is more likeable.
In regard to Kuyper I thought that this was a ‘yooneek’ spelling of [name]Cooper[/name]. I would much rather [name]Cooper[/name] or the other name it reminds me of [name]Schuyler[/name].
I really don’t think [name]Brenner[/name] will get mushed in with the Brendans and if there was an incidence of this a quick correction from you would solve the problem.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] is a really nice combo as is [name]Brenner[/name] [name]Cael[/name] and I think either of these combinations would be great choices for you.
Well, the difference between Jurney and Kuyper is that Kuyper is an actual name. Jurney is a word that is just misspelled. The only reason I went with the Kuyper spelling is that is how the name is actually spelled. But I think changing it to Kyper will probably make pronunciation easier for everyone.

hi i just read your conversation by the way my name is hammerson b. kyper
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Tobiah[/name] is great. That’s my favorite name on your list. The “e” in [name]Crewe[/name] is unnecessary; everyone knows how to spell “crew,” but it’s just a pain to have to give your name as “[name]Crew[/name]-with-an-e-on-the-end.” [name]Crewe[/name] also looks like it should be pronounced “crew-ee.”
Kuyper looks like a tryndei spelling of [name]Cooper[/name]. It gives me a headache. [name]Brenner[/name] is okay but not my style.
