I have loved [name_u]Lacy[/name_u] for years. I love how delicate and sweet it sounds, but it’s not overly cutesy. Recently, however, I discovered my great-great grandmother’s name was [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I have started to fall in love with that name. Which name do you all prefer? I have [name_u]Lacy[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] on my list, but I also think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is pretty.
If you do like or prefer [name_u]Lacy[/name_u], how would you spell it: [name_u]Lacy[/name_u], Laci,or [name_f]Lacey[/name_f]?
I’m torn between the pronunciation of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I love both! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer Lacy/Lucy Mad-uh-lynn or Mad-uh-line?
I really like [name_u]Lacy[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] for the vintage charm, but personally love the spelling [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] a bit more since it doesn’t look literally like “lacy.” In the middle I like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] with the -line pronunciation.
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! It’s sweet and classic without being boring.
For [name_u]Lacy[/name_u], I like the [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] spelling best. It’s just the most familiar/natural to me.
I pronounce [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] as mad-uh-line, but I like the other pronunciation too. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is lovely!
I think if you have loved [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] for years then you might regret not using it! Plus it still sounds like you could be honouring [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!
Both are lovely names, but in general, I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I personally prefer [name_u]Lacy[/name_u] spelled [name_f]Lacey[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] pronounced mad-uh-line, which I think is what sounds the best in the Lucy/Lacy [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] combo.
Both combos are really lovely, but I think I would choose [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] just because of Lucy’s honoring status for you!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (line pronounciation) is my favorite. I want to like [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] (prefer this spelling), but I have such a strong negative association with the name that it has lost all appeal for me.
Thank you all! Looks like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is the winner here, haha. It is a beautiful name. I never really liked it until I found out about my great-great grandma. I love it now. I love how some of you said [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] could be use as an honor name for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. That’s such a great idea! I don’t know why I never thought of that before. Thanks again for your thoughts and opinions, everyone!
