I’m really crushing on Lafferty today. I was reading an anthology of fantasy stories and one of the surnames in the book was Lafferty.
I wouldn’t use it, but I think it’s very cool and interesting. Maybe I’ll use it in a story someday. So, what do you all think of Lafferty?
[name]Rafferty[/name] is better. I remember reading about a murder trial of a [name]Ron[/name] Lafferty a while back. He was convicted of the 1984 murder of [name]Brenda[/name] Lafferty and her infant daughter [name]Erica[/name]. That kind of taints the name for me.
I sort of like Lafferty. It seems much lighter-hearted than [name]Rafferty[/name] (which has always seemed a bit dark to me), but maybe because it’s the strong “laugh” sound in the beginning. Then again, I love to laugh, I’m a very light-hearted person at heart, so that appeals to me. Not sure if it would make it that much more teaseworthy, hmm.
I automatically thought Laffy [name]Taffy[/name]…
[name]Ash[/name], the laugh thing is what made me crush on it today. I like [name]Rafferty[/name] too
