I was shocked when I searched for [name_u]Laken[/name_u] on nameberry and didn’t find any information. I don’t like the name at all, but I know of several girls named [name_u]Laken[/name_u]. Most of them are around my age (22). Was this just a weird, regional trend?
[name_u]Laken[/name_u] is listed on nameberry, but as a boys’ name. I’ve never heard of the name being used, or met any Lakens, personally, but it doesn’t seem that odd of a name to me. [name_u]Larkin[/name_u], however, I know for a fact is listed, and seems a lot more used than [name_u]Laken[/name_u]. If a name shows up green, then theres a listing on nameberry. I’ve only come across a very few names that aren’t listed here for at least one gender.
Actually, I just found it listed in the girls’ names too. It doesn’t have any meanings or origins listed. Im assuming its made up? Probably as a way to use [name_u]Lake[/name_u] as a nn.
That’s so weird. I don’t know anyone named [name_u]Larkin[/name_u], but I swear, I know a lot of Lakens. Girl Lakens. None of them are called [name_u]Lake[/name_u]. It must be regional. I went to my facebook and found five girls named [name_u]Laken[/name_u] from my state (Kentucky).
I don’t know anyone with the name. Personally, it sounds made up (which I’m 99% sure it is) and trendy. I think it’d work best for a boy, just like [name_u]Larkin[/name_u].
I only know a [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] (girl, about 6). [name_u]Laken[/name_u] does have a made up sound to it, but i can imagine some people I know using it.
