We are weeks away from baby boy number 2 (brother is [name_u]Luca[/name_u]). We would love to honor special family members using the middle name [name_u]Lane[/name_u]. Problem is - we aren’t settled on a first name, but many we [name_f]DO[/name_f] like are one syllable so it doesn’t flow well.
Can you think of names with [name_u]Lane[/name_u] in them? The only one I can think of is [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], and I’m not sold yet.
There aren’t alot of names like that out there. One I thought of tho is [name_m]Maclean[/name_m], if you’d say it with the lane ending. It doesn’t look exactly the same but it definitely shares the obvious lane sound.
mclean is the name of my hometown, and it’s pronounced ‘mick-lane’ (i prefer that spelling to the above, but i am definitely biased).
dropping the ‘e’ as above, there’s also [name_m]declan[/name_m]! [name_m]blaine[/name_m] is another possibility. i know it’s more of a stretch, but what about [name_u]dylan[/name_u]/[name_m]dillon[/name_m]? or [name_m]mulaney[/name_m]? [name_m]nolan[/name_m]? [name_u]sloan[/name_u]/[name_u]sloane[/name_u]?
that’s all i can think of, but i’m sure there’s a way to be creative about this! maybe you could let us know some of the monosyllabic names you’re considering, because i think it’s possible to have two mono names sound good together! i don’t think you should take [name_u]lane[/name_u] off the table just yet.
If you narrow those down to names that also include the letter ‘e’, you get a few gems:
[name_m]Cleveland[/name_m]
[name_m]Gaelan[/name_m]
[name_m]Kellan[/name_m]
[name_u]Leland[/name_u]
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m]
Edited to add that if you search for names with -ane- in them, the choices are more limited but you do get [name_m]Coltrane[/name_m]!
