Laney and Annie??

hi all,
Need help.
We currently have a daughter named delaney who goes by laney often…
Her brothers are jackson and [name]Luke[/name].
If our fourth is a girl…we love [name]Annie[/name].

Is [name]Annie[/name] too close to laney?
Can [name]Annie[/name] stand alone?

Should we go with [name]Anna[/name], nn [name]Annie[/name]? Or still too similar?

We could use just [name]Anne[/name] too but it seems rather plain.

Any middle name suggestions?
I like [name]Annie[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name].

I don’t like the [name]Annie[/name] as a full name. I think you should go with a more formal name so that it can age with her. [name]Anna[/name] will work. Barring that, maybe [name]Annabeth[/name], [name]Annelise[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name], even [name]Andrea[/name].

I think [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name] are fine together. They’re not too close, in my opinion.

I like [name]Anna[/name] as the full name.
and IMHO [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name] are fine together

I think [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name], if those were their full given names, are too close. [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name], however, work very well! I quite like [name]Anna[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name]. It’s beautiful, classic, and has a bit of the unexpected about it.

I think [name]Anna[/name] / [name]Anne[/name] might be better, nn [name]Annie[/name]. It’s not too close if she has something else to fall back on. I like it.

I think [name]Anna[/name] [name]Marlow[/name] is STUNNING. Though, I will admit, [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name] might turn into something of a tongue twister. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Anna[/name] in it’s own right? What if you named her something for which [name]Anna[/name] could be a nn? [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Annabeth[/name], [name]Susannah[/name], etc?

I think if your daughters were named [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name] they would be too similar. But [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name] work great! [name]Anna[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] is beautiful!

To someone that doesn’t say the name [name]Laney[/name] every day, the names probably do seem different enough. But, as someone with a [name]Delaney[/name] nn [name]Laney[/name] of my own, I think [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Laney[/name] are too similar. But as other posters have suggested…[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name] sound okay together.

Our 2 year old daughter is named [name]Anne[/name]. We call her [name]Annie[/name] about 99% of the time but I wanted her to have a formal name and I love [name]Anne[/name] [name]Shirley[/name] ([name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables) and didn’t mind naming her after that character. Though it may be plain to some, [name]Anne[/name] is quite striking in its simplicity among the other current names. I highly recommend [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Annie[/name].

This exactly!
