Last minute help!

[name]Hi[/name] all -
[name]Baby[/name] could come any day now and while we have a list, nothing has jumped out as a clear front runner. We could use come help!

We have on our list:
[name]Calliope[/name] (I really dislike [name]Callie[/name] as a nn though)
[name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name])
[name]Persephone[/name] (dislike [name]Percy[/name] as a nn as well, are there any other nicknames?)
[name]Philomena[/name] (nn [name]Mena[/name])

They’re all Greek, which is preferable to us, both to honor our family heritage and to blend well with our eldest’s name, [name]Athena[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]. This baby will also have a double middle name - either [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].

I’d love to hear thoughts on these names and perhaps some additional suggestions!

Either [name]Ariadne[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name], they have a different vibe though. [name]Ariadne[/name] seems more extrovert and [name]Daphne[/name] more introvert.

Leave alone names if you dislike the nn’s because it will come up by strangers carelessly giving the child a nn.

rollo

I adore [name]Calliope[/name], but if you dislike [name]Callie[/name], I wouldn’t go for it. That will be the default nn for sure.
[name]Ariadne[/name] is very pretty, and comes with some sweet nicknames. A good choice!
[name]Daphne[/name] is beautiful, but it is one of the more common choices of your list. But not too popular, so I think it would work great!
I’m not a fan of [name]Penelope[/name], to be perfectly honest.
[name]Persephone[/name] is adorable and stunning. I think [name]Penny[/name] would be a darling nickname.
[name]Philomena[/name] is an elegant choice with cute nn. As long as no one calls her [name]Phil[/name]!

In conclusion, I like [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name] best with [name]Athena[/name]. I typically shy away from same letter sibsets, don’t like [name]Penelope[/name], and philomena does pretty much rhyme with [name]Athena[/name].

My choice from your list would be [name]Daphne[/name]. [name]Athena[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] would be fabulous!
Best of luck!

[name]Ariadne[/name] is a beautiful name and I love the combination [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] it is so classic and lovely. I think that [name]Ariadne[/name] and [name]Athena[/name] fit well together as a sibset. Since [name]Margaret[/name] means pearl I would go with [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] in the middle. Also I love [name]Calliope[/name] but if you really dislike the nickname [name]Callie[/name] you would likely have to be extra vigilant with people so they don’t fall into calling her that, but I think it can be done!

I think [name]Ariadne[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name]!

[name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]

I really like [name]Calliope[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name].

[name]Calliope[/name] - You can definitely get away with [name]Lia[/name] as a nickname for [name]Calliope[/name], if that’s an issue. Nice, but not my favorite. Doesn’t really fit with middle names.
[name]Ariadne[/name] - Pretty, but same problem. [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] just isn’t matching up for me.
[name]Daphne[/name] - This is my vote. It assimilates well enough to fit with your very English names, and sounds cute with big sis [name]Athena[/name].
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name]) - [name]Penelope[/name]'s cute, if overly trendy right now, but I dislike nickname [name]Nell[/name], as well as [name]Penny[/name]. [name]Both[/name] sound dated. I like [name]Pippi[/name] better.
[name]Persephone[/name] - [name]Nix[/name] this one if you dislike Persy/[name]Percy[/name] as a nickname. I mean, there’s Seph, and arguably [name]Fifi[/name], but come on.
[name]Philomena[/name] (nn [name]Mena[/name]) - Nice, but not striking. Rhymes with [name]Athena[/name], which is either adorable or too matchy, depending on your POV.

My favorite combinations:

  1. [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
  2. [name]Philomena[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
  3. [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
  4. [name]Philomena[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
  5. [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]

I’d go with [name]Penelope[/name] or [name]Philomena[/name] since you don’t like the nickname [name]Percy[/name] for [name]Persephone[/name]. It would keep up the theme of having the first initial and the second middle name be the same like your first daughter. If you don’t mind the [name]PIP[/name] initials, I’d go with [name]Imogen[/name] since [name]Margaret[/name] is a bit too common.

[name]Philomena[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is my pick.

I love either [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Philomena[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Philomena[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].

I love [name]Calliope[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name], but these nn are certain.

What about [name]Delphine[/name]? Too close to [name]Athena[/name]? Similar feel to [name]Daphne[/name], but I strongly favor [name]Delphine[/name].

My favorite out of your list is possibly a tie between [name]Calliope[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]. I like [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] a lot actually!

My vote definitely goes to [name]Persephone[/name]. [name]Athena[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name] - what a gorgeous sibset!

I like [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].

[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Philomena[/name] (or [name]Mena[/name]) sound a bit silly together, [name]IMO[/name].

I’d go with [name]Daphne[/name] or [name]Ariadne[/name]. [name]Penelope[/name] is becoming very common, especially since it was used by Kardashian, and I’d avoid [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Calliope[/name] because you dislike the most intuitive nicknames for them.

I like the suggestion of [name]Delphine[/name] and will also suggest [name]Maia[/name].

Doesn’t [name]Margaret[/name] mean pearl? Somehow [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] sounds a bit redundant to me.

[name]Penelope[/name] or [name]Philomena[/name].

[name]Philomena[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].

[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Philomena[/name]

I just wanted to pop in and say I once met a baby [name]Calliope[/name] whose mother called her [name]Poppy[/name], so that might be a nn option?

I will definitely be biased in answering this, since I got two of my favourite names on your list. [name]Calliope[/name] is gorgeous, but don’t use it if you don’t want [name]Callie[/name]. That will be everyone’s first thought when it comes to nicknaming her. So [name]Ariadne[/name]. [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is a perfection, imo.
[name]Daphne[/name] here is great too, but I think [name]Ariadne[/name] combo still sounds better.
[name]Penelope[/name], I dislike. [name]Persephone[/name] will be my 2nd choice here.

From you list my favorites are…
[name]Ariadne[/name] ,[name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] in that order
I don’t really like [name]Calliope[/name], [name]Persephone[/name], or [name]Philomena[/name]
I have a daughter named [name]Margaret[/name] (which means pearl by the way) and I absolutely adore [name]Imogen[/name] so I love your double middle names

I like [name]Ariadne[/name] best of the names on your list.

[name]Susan[/name]

[name]Lovely[/name] names! I think [name]Peri[/name] would be a great nn for [name]Persephone[/name].
