Last minute poll: Colin, Noah or Jack

38weeks pregnant and still can’t decide what to call baby #3! Siblings are [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_m]Ben[/name_m]. They like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] - I think it’s too popular & not my favorite. I wanted biblical - is [name_u]Noah[/name_u] too popular? DH favorite is [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. Help us decide!!!

[name_u]Noah[/name_u] is very popular as is [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] would be rarer but doesn’t have the pedigree of [name_u]Noah[/name_u]. I vote [name_m]John[/name_m], nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m], so if he finds [name_m]Jack[/name_m] too popular he can be [name_m]Johnny[/name_m], [name_m]John[/name_m] or [name_u]Jo[/name_u].

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] is my favorite, despite its popularity; [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is my second favorite. It depends on your last name - what does it sound like, and how many syllables?

Another name that came to mind is Caleb.

I like [name_m]Colin[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] would be number 2.

[name_m]Colin[/name_m] is best.

I like them all, I can see why you are having trouble. Try to think of your favorite things about each one, instead of what you don’t like about each one. One name might have a more special significance than another

My favourite is [name_u]Noah[/name_u], then it would be [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. Maybe use two of them - [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Colin[/name_m]?
What about [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]/[name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Jago[/name_m], [name_m]Colm[/name_m] or [name_m]Callum[/name_m] instead?

I would choose [name_m]Colin[/name_m] I think, but it’s a close call between all 3. It depends on last name and middle name too.

I like the suggestions of [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. Maybe [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_u]Sam[/name_u], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_m]Wes[/name_m]…

With [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m], I’m torn! I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] best in general, and I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_m]Ben[/name_m], and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] together, but I really like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] with [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m], too! Honestly, [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s much less popular than [name_u]Noah[/name_u], so if [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s too popular, I would think [name_u]Noah[/name_u] would be too popular, too. I think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] gets my vote, with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] as my back-up. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is nice, but I don’t love it so much as the other two. Good luck!

I’m not personally a fan of [name_m]Colin[/name_m], especially this spelling - although I understand it’s the traditional spelling. Also, I know of three little boys with the name born this year)

[name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] are both adorable, and go great with [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m]! My personal experience shows that [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is a bit more popular at the moment… but that’s here in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_f]England[/name_f].

Congrats, good luck & happy naming!

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] has really been growing on me lately. Probably because I know an adorable [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is also pretty cute. [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is a far, distant third for me. Sorry, I’ve just never cared for that name.

I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m] & [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (slight edge to [name_m]Jack[/name_m]). [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is too close to colon.

[name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Colin[/name_m] then [name_u]Noah[/name_u]

[name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] sound like they would be buds!

[name_u]Noah[/name_u] is far more popular than [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is my favorite.

I like my numbers. Sorry in advance.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] is #4 (in USA) and so a top ten name. It’s really popular and been rising steadily for a long time.
On the other hand, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is top 50, but holding steady. However [name_m]John[/name_m] is also top 50 and some of those Johns are [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is top 30 and rising. [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] is top 100. I agree with you and I point out it’s hard to tell how popular [name_m]Jack[/name_m] really is.
I will also say I know a few Jacks and no Noahs.
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] is far less popular than either of these names. I disagree that it is not classic. It has [name_m]Colin[/name_m] [name_f]Firth[/name_f], The [name_f]Secret[/name_f] Garden (classic children’s literature) and a minor character in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m].
Any of these names are good choices, and there is a lot to recommend them.
I do think if you love [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_m]Colin[/name_m] you should use it. I think your kids can name their kids [name_m]Jack[/name_m] or even a teddy bear.
I actually know a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_m]Ben[/name_m] ([name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]) and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] ([name_m]John[/name_m]). They have other sisters.
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

Hello…

I like all three names.

If you want an older, less popular name - then go with [name_m]Colin[/name_m].If you want a biblical and popular name - then go with [name_u]Noah[/name_u].If you want a common name - then go with [name_m]Jack[/name_m].Maybe that will help you decide.

I like all names so it’s hard for me to pick. Test it with your last name as well.

I think however… If I were in your position and these were the names I was considering, I would probably go with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and use [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Colin[/name_m] as the middle name. I don’t think [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is too biblical because it’s so popular and the popularity takes away the Religious side of it these days. Parents who are not very Religious are naming their sons [name_u]Noah[/name_u] because of it’s popularity. It is a great name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] names such as [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]- you wouldn’t think they are Biblical because they are so very popular.

Well… Best wishes with your baby boy. What a great [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] gift… actually, as I am writing this. Maybe you can consider the name [name_u]JESSE[/name_u]. [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is a unisex name but rapidly rising for boys. It actually means GIFT, and since your baby is due around [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] (the birth of [name_m]Jesus[/name_m]) it might be the perfect name with special meaning behind it! [name_m]Just[/name_m] a suggestion.

[name_f]Merry[/name_f] [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].
