Last name Smelley

OK so I’m having a boy but I have no clue where to start on a name that sounds good with the last name Smelley… I don’t want anything that would make jokes worse on him growing up… help please!

I think you should avoid all wordy or noun names.
If it was [name_u]River[/name_u] Smelley, for example, it might get listed as Smelley, [name_u]River[/name_u]. It would be a matter of time since kids started calling him ‘Smelly [name_u]River[/name_u]’ or something like that.

Ditto to what @armadura said. I think it’s best to avoid word names and stick with the tried and true. Also maybe stay away from names ending in the letter S as they will run together with your last name, e.g. [name_m]Silas[/name_m] Smelley. What style of names do you like so the Berries can give helpful suggestions that you may like? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have some that you like whether or not they would make your short list?

I see this a few different ways

  1. Give a more popular name, so that he wont be singled out… Maybe have a friend with same name as him ( I am an [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] lol so I know about having 5+ same name in your grade lol )

  2. You can say pronunciation of last name is Smeal-[name_m]Lay[/name_m] or Smell-lay and go for a super out there first out of top 1000, to focus attention on what cool first name and everyone will just remember him by having a unique first name

Common, handsome but not cheesy names:
[name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m]

[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]
[name_m]Dimitri[/name_m]
