I have a couple of girls for a series I’m working on.
(about six of them)
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlette[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
Brair
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
And
Cinder
Now I’m looking for specific last name for each girl.
For example for Brair I am looking for a name related to sleeping beauty.
For [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] something related to gold or with gold in it.
For [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] something related to snow white (note she is also of Chinese descent)
Finally Cinder something [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] related. I was thinking of maybe Glass. Although I’m not sure.
Brair: [name_m]Thorn[/name_m]? [name_m]Moe[/name_m] (means sleep in Tahitian), or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]: just [name_m]Gold[/name_m]? Goldsmith, [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m], [name_m]Miner[/name_m], Midas
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]: Píngguǒ means apple, ”irén means dwarf, Xuě means snow, Wūmù means ebony, and now I’m out of [name_f]Snow[/name_f] White related things
Cinder: Glass is fine, if not: Cobbler, or Schuster/Schumacher (german lastnames meaning cobbler)
I think your options and current thoughts can all work. It really just depends how heavily you want to link your characters to their fairy tales through their last names. If a direct link works and plays into and / or breaks fairy tale conventions and story elements you want to use I say go for it.
Here are some ideas for your four characters who still need last names …
