Hello i am currently 24 weeks today!! N me and OH are struggling to pick between two names whittled down from at least 50 it’s took me awhile but I can’t seem to pick my favourite from these two!! Any opinions good or bad would help us alot!!
I love [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] it’s gorgeous and my favorite. I would choose the first name you love most since that’s what you’re going to be calling her all the time. Then I would tweak the middle names to fit.
I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], but actually prefer [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]. Ditto to @kirby2015 and I think you could use any of the middle names with it. I like the opportunity to honour both sides of her family so maybe [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f]?
I personally love [name_f]Verity[/name_f], so [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] is definitely my favourite. I think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Renae[/name_f] are much more interesting middles too, but I do think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] flows better. I agree with @squidly that you could choose which one ‘fits’ better when she’s born, or try calling her by both names and see which one feels more natural.
I personally like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] but you seem to like the second choice better and I think it’s best to always go with what you like best ultimately.
While [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] has a pretty sound, I can’t get past the negative biblical connotations. I prefer [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], or [name_f]Delia[/name_f] personally. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is cute, but I’d personally prefer to see [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think I’m the only one that can’t get into [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] still, or really can’t get over the Biblical story, but I just can’t, sorry! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Verity[/name_f], though, and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is gorgeous! I would prefer the [name_f]Renee[/name_f] spelling, and I would be swooning over [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f], but [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] is also really, really gorgeous, and I can’t stop grinning every time I see it!
Look closely at [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f]. The ‘ah’ at the end of [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and the ‘A’ at the beginning of [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] run into each other. Then, aside from the 'N’s at the end, each name only has vowels to go with the consonants ‘D’ and ‘L’. Resulting in this sort of sound when I say the names out loud together, “de la de la de la”. It’s really sing-song-y. I do agree that with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] added there is a certain loveliness when reading it on the page, but I think that’s partly because [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] go together so beautifully on their own. I also think that on its own the name [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] isn’t very stylish or distinguished.
I think these names are more beautiful that [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]:
*I suggest keeping [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] as it is instead of changing it to [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. It has a lovely gravity and antique quality that brings out the ancient aspects of [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], which are both very, very old names that have rather serious meanings despite their prettiness.
I also want to add that I do really like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] (traditional spelling), but that [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and [name_f]Renee[/name_f] don’t seem as closely related to me as [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] in the context of your combination. So, if you think there might be any arguments at all, I’d go with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], especially since you seem to like it best.
I much prefer [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] as the first name, but I am not sold on [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as the middles. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] is a good one (although [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] have a similar sound, but I think it works) and so is [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Or maybe even [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]…
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f] is so pretty:) I don’t care for [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] , but it seems most berries love it! I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f]… so pure and uncomplicated:)… [name_f]Verity[/name_f] meaning is [name_u]Truth[/name_u]… good luck!
