Boy: (middle name will be [name]Alexander[/name])
[name]Lucius[/name] (we say loo-shus)
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Breccan[/name]
[name]Brody[/name]
[name]Rye[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]

Girl: (middle name will be [name]Jessica[/name])
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Elle[/name]
[name]Merle[/name]
[name]Meryl[/name]
[name]Prue[/name]
[name]Myrtle[/name]
[name]Echo[/name] - am a little unsure if this is too out there… but has been a guilty pleasure for years!
[name]Heidi[/name]
[name]Marcie[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]

So, what do you think? Thanks, [name]Jessie[/name]

wow you have excellent taste, and eclectic too!
[name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] have very spunky names, and their little sis/bro should live up to that.
i think it might be good to go for a 2 syllable name this time, for a bit of variety. but thats just my humble opinion!
so here we go:

Boy:
[name]Lucius[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]- love this. little ambivalent about whether or not it goes perfectly with the other boys’ names though
[name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
a very suave title for a little boy
[name]Sidney[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]- quite like, but has always sounded too close to ‘kidney’ and been to close to a place name to sound too great to me…
[name]Breccan[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]- this name looks weird written down to me, sorry! and i don’t think it sounds quite like a name, for some reason. more like a place?
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Rye[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Briar[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]- this is unusual! it feels sliiiightly feminine to me spelt [name]Briar[/name], but I like it too.
[name]Harvey[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] yes! to me this is vintage british, at its best  thats the feeling it gives me anyway…
[name]Rory[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]- after my top 3, this one gets my next vote. cute
[name]Hollis[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]

Girl:
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] my favourite, I think. a name well due a comeback. interesting and makes me think- that kid has parents with taste!
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] sweet, classic, lovely flow. like [name]Rose[/name] a lot better in the first name spot. despite being so popular through time, continues to be fresh…
[name]Elle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]- this sounds very bimbo to me, for some reason. sorry!
[name]Merle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]- like this, but can’t picture it on a little girl. think it could work though. would you use a nn?
[name]Prue[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]- have never considered this name personally, but love this combination and its unusual but at the same time, people know it. i get the picture of a really quirky bright little girl from this.
[name]Myrtle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]- really really not a fan of [name]Myrtle[/name]…
[name]Echo[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] okay yes, very unusual. very ‘guilty pleasure.’ but I [name]LOVE[/name] IT. granted, i am a fan of a lot of ancient names, but this one has such a beautiful sound. if you are really considering this name, i am thrilled! would you use a nickname? i would say its really usable if you give her the choice to shorten it to something less ‘stand-out’ for school, for instance. [name]Jessica[/name] makes [name]Echo[/name] more contemporary as well. lovely
[name]Heidi[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Marcie[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]- where i am this is a top 5 name so i wouldnt use it for that reason. but maybe it isn’t so overused where you are?
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] soft ‘S’ sounds sound lovely together. a twinkly feminine wistful name.

hope the opinions help and let us know as you/if you whittle the lists down:)
do you need suggestions too? if so let me know. i like your taste! X

I [name]LOVE[/name] your boys names [name]Vale[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]!!!

My favorites for a Boy:
[name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Heath[/name])
[name]Rye[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Rye[/name])
[name]Hollis[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name])
[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Reid[/name])

My favorites for a Girl:
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Maude[/name])
[name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Meryl[/name])
[name]Prue[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Prue[/name])
[name]Echo[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Echo[/name])
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name])

My DH loves [name]Rue[/name] or [name]True[/name] for a girl, which reminds me of your [name]Prue[/name] (and could be alternatives to it!)
For the boys my number one is [name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], followed by [name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. For the girls its tough to decide - maybe [name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] with your sons’ names but [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] for flow

Thankyou both! ladyrussell: if you have other ideas then feel free to suggest away! We don’t really do assigned nicknames and plan to name our kids what we will call them.

My favorite boys names on your list are [name]Sidney[/name] and [name]Reid[/name].

I don’t care for [name]Brody[/name], [name]Briar[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name]. The others are OK to me.

For the girls, my favorites are [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name].

I think [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Elle[/name] fall short – they lack substance for me, especially next to [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name].

I also like [name]Marcie[/name] and [name]Heidi[/name], just not as much as [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name]. [name]Maude[/name] is nice, too.

These are my favorites:

[name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]

[name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Heath[/name]
[name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name]

With [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name], my favourites are (in order):

[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Lucius[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] (though the V in [name]Vale[/name] makes me question this one)

Thanks everyone! Well, [name]Briar[/name] and [name]Reid[/name] have gone off the boys list… leaving [name]Lucius[/name], [name]Heath[/name], [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Breccan[/name], [name]Brody[/name], [name]Rye[/name], [name]Harvey[/name], [name]Rory[/name], [name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name]. Have knocked of [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] from the girls, leaving: [name]Maude[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Merle[/name], [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Prue[/name], [name]Myrtle[/name], [name]Echo[/name], [name]Heidi[/name], [name]Marcie[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name]. At the moment, I’m really liking [name]Prue[/name] and [name]Breccan[/name] but this changes everyday! I have posted polls with the remaining names and would be grateful for your votes. Suggestions are always welcome. Thanks, [name]Jessie[/name]

[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name] are amazing names and I love your surname of Ashdown.

I think you need the light and breezy style which it the way I percieve your naming style to continue.

The stand out for girls is [name]Sylvie[/name] Ashdown I love it but do you like the repeating V in the sibset, ie [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Vale[/name]?

[name]Heath[/name], [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name] sound great together so this is my top pick for the boys.

I think names with an “L” in them suit your style really well. For example [name]Laurel[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Vale[/name]

or [name]Willow[/name], [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name]

[name]Rose[/name], [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name] make a lovely sibset because [name]Rose[/name] is such a sweet and eternally lovely name.

[name]Prue[/name] is intriging but I have never heard it as anything but a nn for [name]Prudence[/name] which I don’t like.

[name]Myrtle[/name], [name]Maude[/name] and [name]Merle[/name] seem a little heavy, but of those I like [name]Maude[/name] the best.

I heard of someone who named their child [name]Echo[/name] and I was horrified I would definitely not name a beautiful daughter [name]Echo[/name].

regards

rollo

ps Is [name]Emily[/name] too popular etc? It sounds nice with [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Vale[/name].

Boy:
[name]Lucius[/name]- [name]Lucius[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is grand, I love it.
[name]Heath[/name]- [name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] it sturdy, dependable and sort of runs together. Not my favorite, but I get the appeal
[name]Sidney[/name]- I cannot see [name]Sidney[/name] on a toddler. It is still an old-mans name for the boys; oddly enough it’s fresh and quirky for girls.
[name]Breccan[/name]- Reminds me of a brand of wood chips, or something I can’t quite bring to mind.
[name]Brody[/name]- Never understood the appeal to this one.
[name]Rye[/name]- drinking Whiskey and [name]Rye[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]- [name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name], a Disney Princesses name.
[name]Harvey[/name]- See [name]Sidney[/name].
[name]Rory[/name]- [name]Rory[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is both playful, handsome and a good combo.
[name]Hollis[/name]- [name]Hollis[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], not a fan of the combo, the names slur together a bit.
[name]Oakley[/name]- [name]Annie[/name] [name]Oakley[/name]. I wouldn’t mind the connotation if it weren’t a woman I was thinking of.
[name]Reid[/name]- I knew a boy name [name]William[/name] ‘[name]Reid[/name]’ [name]Alexander[/name]! I always loved his name.

Girl: (middle name will be [name]Jessica[/name])
[name]Maude[/name]- [name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] is about as mismatched as they come. You have [name]Maude[/name], a very vintage, slightly fusty name that isn’t high on the list of revivals and then [name]Jessica[/name], a name that peaks a couple decades ago and now looks a bit like [name]Jennifer[/name] or [name]Jason[/name]. Not good.
[name]Rose[/name]- [name]Rose[/name] is so gorgeous, but again with [name]Jessica[/name]. Is [name]Jessica[/name] a name you are using to include your own name, [name]Jessi[/name]? If it is what about using [name]Jessamine[/name]? [name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name], or even better [name]Jessamine[/name] [name]Rose[/name] would be GORGEOUS!
[name]Elle[/name]- [name]Elle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] works together, but it is a bit boring.
[name]Merle[/name]- I am unsure of the prn. I can’t decide between Mer-lee or Muhrl like [name]Pearl[/name], or it could be Meyrl as in Streep.
[name]Meryl[/name]- [name]Ah[/name], there is [name]Meryl[/name]; I think [name]Meryl[/name] is a cool name and I would be jazzed to meet a baby [name]Meryl[/name]. [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] has flow problems, but [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name] is, again, so beautiful.
[name]Prue[/name]- [name]Prue[/name]? Really? [name]Prune[/name]. I can’t imagine you really want to name your baby [name]Prue[/name]! What about- [name]True[/name], [name]Rue[/name], [name]Priscilla[/name], or [name]Penelope[/name].
[name]Myrtle[/name]- [name]Meryl[/name] is cool, interesting and sophisticated. [name]Myrtle[/name] is heavy, gutteral and not at all beautiful.
[name]Echo[/name]- [name]Echo[/name] is a guilt pleasure for me as well, I think it is so cool and I would flip to meet a toddler [name]Echo[/name], or even a teenager. [name]Echo[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name].
[name]Heidi[/name]- Well, on the plus side [name]Heidi[/name] and [name]Jessica[/name] would be a good couple, the bad part is because they have both already peaked many decades ago.
[name]Marcie[/name]- The mousy secretary. In nearly every sitcom I have ever seen the secretary is named [name]Marcie[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Maisie[/name]? [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]!
[name]Ruby[/name]- I like [name]Ruby[/name], but it’s getting so in it’s out! Oh no! [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name] is gorgeous, however.
[name]Sylvie[/name]- I love [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name], if only it had a better name meaning it would be high on my list. [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] takes something away from the sparkling [name]Sylvie[/name].

I love these:

[name]Lucius[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Rory[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]

[name]Jessamine[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Echo[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]

If you were to have one of each I would name your kids:

[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name].

Blessings,

[name]Bella[/name] <3

The reason that I bypassed [name]Lucius[/name] is that it sounds like the word luscious. (I know how to prn it but others won’t know.)

[name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is awesome with your last names and with siblings. I think you’re done there.

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] is the girl name I can get the most behind.
[name]Maude[/name] is OK but [name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name], and [name]Heath[/name] are so active, and [name]Maude[/name] feels kind of “slower”.
[name]Rose[/name] kind of does too but less so, and is just so classic.
[name]Echo[/name] is a great guilty pleasure but the story is just too sad.
[name]Chloe[/name] or [name]Cleo[/name] uses some of the same sounds and I think both are Greek.

[name]Do[/name] you like any of these?
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]May[/name]
[name]Maire[/name]
[name]Shea[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Fawn[/name]
[name]Dawn[/name]
[name]Liv[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]Hope[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Faith[/name]
[name]Luz[/name]
[name]Paz[/name]
[name]Peace[/name]
[name]Nev[/name]/[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Skye[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]

I like the suggestion of [name]Jessamine[/name], but will argue against thinking of [name]Jessica[/name] as only an 80s name. It’s both Shakespearean (Merchant of [name]Venice[/name]) and in the Bible (variant of Iscah), and was never really out of use after [name]Shakespeare[/name] (check out some of the great older actresses with the name, and its presence as a character name in a variety of older TV shows and, before that, books). So, that’s my thought there.

Good luck!

Thankyou very much everyone! [name]Jessica[/name] is unnegotiable due to family naming traditions (as an aside, I personally really dislike [name]Jessamine[/name] - just sounds made up and trying too hard to me). I think [name]Echo[/name] is going… is just too much I think… Of suggestions, I like [name]Willow[/name] but only on a boy which I know won’t go down well on here! [name]Emily[/name] is too popular and just not our style at all. We love [name]Prue[/name] just as it is!! Having heard [name]Merle[/name] pronounced in an american accent I can now see why many people don’t like it! However, we are British and the sound is soft and light: merl, same goes for [name]Myrtle[/name]. Thanks!

Lists as they stand:
Boy: [name]Lucius[/name], [name]Heath[/name], [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Breccan[/name], [name]Brody[/name], [name]Rye[/name], [name]Harvey[/name], [name]Rory[/name], [name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name]
Girl: [name]Maude[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Merle[/name], [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Prue[/name], [name]Myrtle[/name], [name]Heidi[/name], [name]Marcie[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name]

Boy:
[name]Lucius[/name]- I don’t mind this but i prefer others on your list
[name]Heath[/name]- [name]Love[/name] with [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Flynn[/name]!
[name]Sidney[/name]- [name]Don[/name]'t mind
[name]Breccan[/name]- Not my favourite.
[name]Brody[/name]- I really like [name]Brody[/name] but somehow I don’t think it fits well with [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Vale[/name]
[name]Rye[/name]- I really like this!
[name]Harvey[/name]- [name]Don[/name]'t mind
[name]Rory[/name]- Not my favourite
[name]Hollis[/name]- Feels a bit feminine to me
[name]Oakley[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this!
My favourites are [name]Heath[/name], [name]Rye[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name]

Girl:
[name]Maude[/name]- Not my style but I can see it working well
[name]Rose[/name]- I’ve always loved this. It’s simple and feminine!
[name]Merle[/name]- [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Meryl[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this too!
[name]Prue[/name]- I can’t bring myself to like this- mostly because of a bad association
[name]Myrtle[/name]- I prefer [name]Meryl[/name] or [name]Merle[/name]
[name]Heidi[/name]- Not my favourite
[name]Marcie[/name]- Not my favourite
[name]Sylvie[/name]- I love this but it seems a bit mis matched with [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] to me
My favourites are [name]Rose[/name], [name]Merle[/name] and [name]Meryl[/name]

Good luck!

What I notice with your names is a monosyllable first name and polysyllabic middle. I think the one syllable goes well with your surname. Thus, I like

[name]Reid[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
and
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessica[/name]

Thoughts on other names:
[name]Heath[/name] – hard to say for non-native English speakers
[name]Rye[/name] – whiskey?
[name]Maude[/name] – maudlin, sad
[name]Elle[/name] – so plain compared to the siblings
[name]Prue[/name] – nn for another name?

I love [name]Heath[/name] and [name]Reid[/name].

Thankyou all for your comments! I think my favs at the moment are [name]Maude[/name], [name]Merle[/name], [name]Prue[/name], [name]Breccan[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name] - although these vary day by day!

Current list:
Boy: [name]Heath[/name], [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Breccan[/name], [name]Brody[/name], [name]Rye[/name], [name]Harvey[/name], [name]Rory[/name], [name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Oakley[/name]
Girl: [name]Maude[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Merle[/name], [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Prue[/name], [name]Myrtle[/name] and [name]Heidi[/name].

Thanks [name]Jessie[/name]

[name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Heath[/name]) - like this combo but like other names on the list better
[name]Sidney[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Sidney[/name]) - love this
[name]Breccan[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Breccan[/name]) - very handsome and a good “fit”.
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Brody[/name]) - nice combo but not sure how well it goes with siblings
[name]Rye[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Rye[/name]) - love this
[name]Harvey[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Harvey[/name]) - really like this
[name]Rory[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Rory[/name]) - hmm undecided on this one
[name]Hollis[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Hollis[/name]) - not convinced, I like the name in theory but kids can be so cruel and [name]Holly[/name] comes a little too easily esp when you have so many other good options
[name]Oakley[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Oakley[/name]) - love it - another good fit

[name]Maude[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Maude[/name]) - really like this
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Rose[/name]) - hmm not sure maybe a bit too “normal”??
[name]Merle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Merle[/name]) - love this
[name]Meryl[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Meryl[/name]) - think I prefer [name]Merle[/name] but this is nice
[name]Prue[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Prue[/name]) - there’s something really cute and spunky about this one! like it!
[name]Myrtle[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Myrtle[/name]) - like this
[name]Heidi[/name] [name]Jessica[/name] Ashdown ([name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] & [name]Heidi[/name]) - don’t like this one

As I read the girls names I kept wanting to place [name]Jessica[/name] in the first name spot. I’m not sure why perhaps because it has more syllables?. I really love the name [name]Jessamine[/name] (for some reason this sounds great to me as a middle name or first name) and I think [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name] is gorgeous together. Of the boy combos I love [name]Heath[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. I also really like [name]Sidney[/name], although recently I have seen this on a lot of little girls in the 5-8 age range.
