I am in love with [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name]! I think I prefer [name]Laura[/name] right now… but [name]Laurel[/name] is still an option
What do you ladies think of [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think it still suits a baby girl of this day? I feel like its a bit dated, but I’m not sure. Also, any middle name suggestions? I’ve tried out a few, but I just can’t seem to come up with one that suits! I don’t want something equally dated like [name]Laura[/name] [name]Nicole[/name], but I don’t want something that seems out of place like [name]Laura[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]. Sorry if I don’t make any sense
I think [name]Laurel[/name] is gorgoues! [name]Laura[/name] is pretty, too. I do feel like [name]Laura[/name] is a little more timeless, just because it’s less popular. [name]Laura[/name] is more dated, I’d say, but not horribly so. [name]Laura[/name] [name]Nicola[/name] definitely says “1980s” to me, though.
[name]Even[/name] though they are so close they feel so different to me. I guess cause [name]Laurel[/name] is a nature name and [name]Laura[/name] feels more ‘common’ to me…however I also associate [name]Laura[/name] with the movie starring [name]Gene[/name] [name]Tierney[/name] which makes the name feel mysterious, sophisticated, tragic & sexy…come to think of it the Twin [name]Peak[/name]'s association does the same…so maybe the more I think about [name]Laura[/name] the more I like it? Maybe it has a more sultry side than I thought? On the flip-side [name]Laura[/name] has a somewhat boring girl vibe to me.
[name]Laurel[/name] feels lighter and reminds me of a fairy-like girl wearing a crown of flowers. It also makes me think of a field of heather. I’ve only ever known one [name]Laurel[/name], but I’ve known many Lauras.
I think for me [name]Laurel[/name] wins, but I’m beginning to see the virtues of [name]Laura[/name].
I really like the name [name]Laura[/name]. I think it’s a classic, not a dated name and it’s on my list of names to use in the future. For mn, how about:
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Kathryn[/name] (or [name]Laura[/name] [name]Kate[/name])
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] (to go back to the nature theme you had with [name]Laurel[/name])
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]
I think [name]Laura[/name] works best with a 1 or 3 syllable mn.
Enjoy the naming process!
I love the name [name]Laura[/name]. It would be on my list if I didn’t have a cousin named [name]Laura[/name]. I consider it more of an underused classic than a dated name. [name]Laura[/name] is sweet and feminine but not frilly and flimsy. It has just the right amount of spunk and class. [name]Laurel[/name] sounds so similar but is more of a nature name to me. I know a teenage [name]Laurel[/name], and she complains because her name is often mistaken for [name]Laura[/name].
Aw, [name]Laurel[/name] is one of my birth middle names.
I prefer [name]Laurel[/name] over [name]Laura[/name], not because it’s my name, but because I like “elle” endings, and [name]Laura[/name] seems terribly boring and commonplace. [name]Laurel[/name] is a bit more unexpected, more of a breath of fresh air.
I think [name]Laurel[/name] fits better on a baby in this day and age, but [name]Laura[/name] could as well. It’s also a timeless name.
I put [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name] in completely different baskets. I love [name]Laurel[/name] it is a sweet, feminine name that would be a great choice for a daughter, it reminds me of the lovely [name]Willow[/name].
[name]Laura[/name] there is nothing wrong with it but it is in the [name]Jennifer[/name] basket for me so I would not like to meet a baby [name]Laura[/name] for at least another 30 years.
[name]Don[/name]'t worry about your that!! [name]Laurel[/name] needs to get back onto your list. (I gave my son the same name as my cousin I thought it was a great idea.)
I love [name]Laurel[/name] - it’s on our list! To me [name]Laura[/name] is a little boring since I know so many Lauras, but it is a pretty sounding name so I guess I can see the apeal. To me [name]Laurel[/name] just has a fresher sound and, I would be pleasantly surprised to meet someone named [name]Laurel[/name].
I do put [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name] in different categories as names… [name]Laurel[/name] is definitely naturey, which I do love! And [name]Laura[/name] is a bit more dated and maybe even “boring”.
When I look at [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name], I do think [name]Laurel[/name] looks more attractive. But when I say them out loud I seem to have a harder time saying [name]Laurel[/name] correctly it ends up sounding like a slurred lrrrllll rather than lore-elle. I have to really try for the first syllable to have the o sound haha. Though I do really like how [name]Laurel[/name] is a nature name. I have [name]Willow[/name] on my list and [name]Laurel[/name] and [name]Willow[/name] would be a cute sibling set!!
Thank you berries so much for the middle name suggestions! I really like a lot of them!
Too bad I already have a middle name I love with [name]Piper[/name], because it seems to fit in well with [name]Laura[/name]! I am loving a lot of these though!!! I think [name]Laura[/name]/[name]Laurel[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] might be my absolute favorite for right now, but I’m not sure. Time will have to tell
my soon to be sister-in-law’s name is Laurelin and we call her [name]Laurel[/name] and Laur(e) (pronounced: Lor) and she is one of the best people I know, she’s happy, smart, bubbly, funny, sweet and all in all that name now has a very happy connotation for me so I love that name and think it would be great for a little girl, im my opinion [name]Laura[/name] is rather plain or an ordinary way to go, it’s a sweet name but [name]Laurel[/name] gives you the options to use [name]Laura[/name] as a nickname which gives you the best of both worlds
[name]Just[/name] my 2 cents
out of your middle name list above my favorites are definitely:
Laurel Faye
and
Laurel Ophelia
I like [name]Laura[/name], but what drives me crazy is that I can’t just have one opinion about it! I think it’s a nice, sweet name with great literary connections ([name]Little[/name] House on the [name]Prairie[/name] and The Woman in White, for example) and I’ve never had a bad experience with one, but I still feel lukewarm about it.
I really like [name]Laurel[/name]. I condoderrd using it. I like the look of it, but in the end, felt it too much of a mouthful. Hard to pronounce. I still think it’s pretty though. If you feally love it, then use it.
My daughter’s name is [name]Laurel[/name]! I think [name]Laura[/name] is so dated, so common, so plain.
[name]Laurel[/name] is unique & vibrant!
[name]How[/name] [name]Laurel[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Laurel[/name] [name]Elianna[/name]?
I find [name]Laura[/name] utterly dull. That said, I do not find it dated and I don’t necessarily find [name]Isabel[/name] as a mn out of place. [name]Laura[/name] is a classic that seems to be common in all generations. I just don’t care for the sound. I cannot explain why. I do really like [name]Laurel[/name]. It just feels prettier and more unordinary.
