Laura or Lauren?

I am wondering which name you like best, either [name_f]Laura[/name_f] or [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] the names have a different feel to you? Are the names a different style from each other? Which style would you say each name is?

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]?

[name_f]Laura[/name_f]! [name_f]Laura[/name_f] gets stuff done. She’s athletic and friendly. Also, all the [name_f]Laura[/name_f]'s I know have been really good singers?

[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] has a softer, more dated “mom” feel to me.

I like [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] but I love [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] even more!

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] is more classic; [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] more modern. A lot of people I think feel [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is dated…too '80s/'90s. I prefer the spelling [name_f]Lauryn[/name_f]. [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is unexpected…I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_m]IRL[/name_m] & she was warm & friendly. I’d always loved the name, though, because it’s the name of a spunky protagonist in a [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f] [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] YA mystery from my childhood.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] definitely have a different feel to me. I know sooo many [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]'s my age that the name just sounds extremely tired and not-as-pretty to me now. [name_f]Laura[/name_f] feels a lot softer and mature. I also like [name_f]Lara[/name_f] a lot, I feel like it retains the strength of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] but also feels younger.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] is classic and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] to me is annoying and dated.

Some people have suggested [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] - I really dislike this and find it much more dated that [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. Maybe it’s just where I live, but Laurels are quite common in their 60s, and have the feel of fussy fuddy duddies to me.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] is waaay too popular for my liking. I really like [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], it is a strong yet very feminine name.
