Laura or Lily?

Laura is great. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] strikes me as very 2010s.

I also prefer nn [name_f]Lori[/name_f] to whatever nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] has. [name_f]Lil[/name_f]? [name_u]Lee[/name_u]?

Lily! I like Lily because of Harry Potter. However, both are good names.

I like both! A few months ago I probably would have said [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but today I’m liking [name_f]Laura[/name_f] more, so [name_f]Laura[/name_f] gets my vote.

How are you pronouncing [name_f]Laura[/name_f]?
law-ruh or lor-uh
I love “Lor-uh”!
So I would probably pick that over [name_f]Lily[/name_f]

“Lor-uh” :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: The multiple pronunciations do worry me :slightly_frowning_face:

I really love both names, so this is a hard choice! [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is my favorite purely on preference (I love the light sound, the meaning, and the versatility), but [name_f]Laura[/name_f] is strong and slightly unexpected on a baby today. [name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Lily[/name_f] by a slim margin.

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is very pretty, but I prefer the [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] spelling! [name_f]Laura[/name_f] seems like it would be my style, but I can’t put on finger on why I don’t quite like it.

Laura feels a little tired to me but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is one I will always appreciate.

Lily for me! [name_f]Laura[/name_f] is fine, but I like [name_f]Elora[/name_f]/Eliora more, personally. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] has oodles of significance for me, and they’re my favorite flowers, so I’ll pick [name_f]Lily[/name_f] above most names, haha. Good luck!

Sorry, I don’t think I’m going to be much help here. I love both. The nature connection with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and the unexpectedness of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] in today’s times make both names very tough to choose from for me. It doesn’t help that I have a connection to both.

Both are great, though I personally prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] in general. But I think [name_f]Laura[/name_f] would be less expected for a girl today, which gives it a bit of an edge, I think.

Lily!! So sweet and classic. It may be popular but it still beats [name_f]Laura[/name_f] in my opinion. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] has so much charm and beauty.

I much prefer [name_f]Laura[/name_f]. It’s beautiful and elegant, also has a nice soft sound. I find [name_f]Lily[/name_f] a bit bland.

Lily! [name_f]Laura[/name_f] is super outdated and boring to me (grew up in the 90s where every other girl was named [name_f]Laura[/name_f]/Lauren)

I think it would depend on what type of name you were looking for. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is very popular right now, so has quite a 2010s-feel, while [name_f]Laura[/name_f] was more popular a couple years back.

This might but [name_f]Laura[/name_f] in a bad light, but I actually think it increases her appeal - because, on the other hand, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] feels like a generic choice (she will definitely meet numerous other Lilys in her lifetime). [name_f]Laura[/name_f] has a lovely sound, and I adore the nickname [name_u]Laurie[/name_u], so I think I would go for [name_f]Laura[/name_f].
