Laura's name meaning

I have been thinking about the name [name_f]Laura[/name_f] a lot lately. I have a question about it’s meaning though. I am could just be clutching at straws but I just wondered what you all think.

I am curious if the meaning of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] could be thought of in a different way to it’s usual meaning. It’s usual meaning is crown with a laurel. My question is can [name_f]Laura[/name_f] mean either something like queen/princess/lady of victory. The crown part of the usual meaning symbolises queen/princess/lady and laurels in [name_m]Roman[/name_m] times represented victory.

I do have a over thinking mind so these type of questions do pop into my head a lot. For this question though can’t make up my mind. Please help me out and tell me your thoughts.

Thank you in advance.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f], literally means “[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]”. Feminine form of the Late Latin name [name_m]Laurus[/name_m]. The name is heavily a related to “crowns” but does not mean crown. Here’s what it says on behindthename.com - “This meaning was favourable, since in ancient [name_m]Rome[/name_m] the leaves of laurel trees were used to create victors’ garlands.”

You cannot change the literal meaning of a name but imagery and associations go a long way.
