Thoughts?
It is kind of dated, tbh. I mean, it is very common on young women my age (at least in the US), so it feels pretty tied to the late '90s-early '00s. But it’s a fine name – nice, clear sound and reminiscent of [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] Bacall.
I’ve taught dozens and dozens. I’d go for Laurencin or [name_f]Lolly[/name_f] or [name_f]Leticia[/name_f] or [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] or [name_f]Lara[/name_f].
I like it! It’s pretty unexpected on a little girl in my opinion, but it ages well. I recently overheard a mom calling her daughter Lauren/Lou/Lulu at a park, and it fit her so well! I’ve known a couple throughout my life, and I’ve never met a [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] I didn’t like.
I agree that it’s a bit dated but it is a lovely name. If you love it, use it!
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is soft but strong and you don’t hear it so often anymore
[name_f]Pretty[/name_f], I haven’t met a child [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] yet (I used to work in schools). [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is also an option that might sound more fresh, if that’s what you going for.
Its a classic! I grew up with a couple and I think its a great name.
I think [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is a modern classic and a beautiful name! I have known many but to me it doesn’t feel as dated as other 90s names…not sure why. I have a friend who named her daughter [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and it didn’t seem dated to me when she announced it!
Overused and a little dated… just doesn’t strike me as a name a baby or kid would have! And it doesn’t have much personality since it’s been so popular for so long. Everyone knows at least one Lauren (at least where I’m from, USA).
Here’s my thing. I super like it. Sometimes a nice no frills name is the freaking ticket because it allows the person to fill it in without preconceptions. [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] could literally be any sort of girl its short and sweet and to the point.
Dated yet also timelessly beautiful. Idk how it can be both but to me it is lol.
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is so sweet! I much prefer her over [name_f]Laura[/name_f]. I also like spelling [name_u]Loren[/name_u].
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] have a special place in my heart, I love them. They may be a bit dated and a bit plain though. I think they are amazing, but your kid may be disappointed to have a name many people consider plain, dated and boring.
I also like [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] (g/b), [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] (g/b), [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] as a nn, [name_m]Laurent[/name_m] (b), [name_u]Loren[/name_u] (b), Ellory (g/b), [name_f]Lore[/name_f] as a nn, [name_f]Lorie[/name_f] as a nn, Lorabelle/Lorielle (g), [name_f]Lora[/name_f] (g) and Lorelee (lore-uh-lee) g
It feels dated to me, too (I live in Canada). It was huge in the 90s, so the [name_m]Laurens[/name_m] are in their late 20s/early 30s now. I would vastly prefer to see [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] instead.
I think [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is a bit dated, but I love it anyway!
