[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! What are your honest thoughts on the name [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the sound? What aesthetics/associations come to mind?
Nn that you can think of? (I like [name_f]Liv[/name_f])
I’m looking for a middle name to complement [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] well and open to any suggestions!
I’ve always liked it a lot since I first heard it on Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] (so I say it w/3 syllables not 4)! It’s a bit frilly for my personal taste, but I do like it a lot and I love [name_f]Liv[/name_f]!
I really like it! It’s very romantic and elegant. [name_u]Love[/name_u] its melodic sound. [name_f]My[/name_f] main association is a Turkish poem, [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Liv[/name_f] as a nickname, what about [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]?
I like it. I think the show Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] brought it attention (like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]). I’d never heard either name before the show.
Strictly derivative NNs include: [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_u]Vinny[/name_u].
However, some NNs aren’t strictly derivative ([name_m]Jim[/name_m] from [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] from [name_m]Robert[/name_m], [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] from [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], to name a few), so I think alternative NN options might include: [name_f]Nel[/name_f], [name_u]Nev[/name_u], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_u]Laney[/name_u], etc.
I love [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], I’ve had it as a middle name for [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for years and I still find the sound so charming. It’s elegant and melodic. As a nickname I really like [name_f]Lovie[/name_f] / [name_u]Love[/name_u].
