Laykin or Landree? Like or Not?

What do you think of the names Laykin or Landree([name]Landry[/name])?

I like the spelling [name]Laken[/name] only. :).

I like Laykin, but I think I would like Lakyn or Layken or Leykin better. I don’t really like Landree/[name]Landry[/name] because it sounds too much like Laundry.

I don’t like either one. What about just [name]Lake[/name]? Or [name]Lark[/name]?

Can I be frank? Laykin and Landree look like someone has pulled Scrabble tiles out of the bag to come up with a name.

[name]Laken[/name] is OK, but Laykin isn’t.

And I agree with ‘lizzard’, [name]Landry[/name] makes me think of laundry.

I prefer [name]Laken[/name] (this spelling only) over [name]Landry[/name] (this spelling only).
The other two are too trendy to me.

I have to agree w/ maggiemary. Laykin and Landree both strike me as made-up sounding. Not trying to offend, but since you asked for opinions, that’s my honest answer.

I really dislike both of them.

Neither name is my style but I prefer the [name]Laken[/name] and [name]Landry[/name] spellings.

I think [name]Landry[/name] (this spelling only) is fine thought there could be laundry issues with it. I personally despise [name]Laken[/name] and all spelling variations! If you are trying to be different I would go with [name]Landry[/name]. I know at least 10 [name]Laken[/name]/Laykin/Laikon/Lakyns I think all the spelling variations make it seem less popular than it really is.

They are both at least mildly awful. [name]Landry[/name] is masculine and looks a heck of a lot like laundry. Lakyn is just…very, very ugly. [name]Don[/name]'t screw with spellings, though, really, it looks illiterate (even if you aren’t) and juvenile. [name]Laken[/name] and [name]Landry[/name] is you must.

I was going to agree with PP that I prefer the more established spellings of [name]Laken[/name] and [name]Landry[/name], but then I realized you’re asking about girls’ names. Despite the more feminized spellings, Laykin and Landree both skew very masculine for me, and as someone who hated my cross-gender name, I would suggest something more feminine or more true unisex (it’s no fun to be mistaken for a boy!). Ditto…

Changing the spelling of masculine names or of surnames doesn’t make them more feminine, it just makes them look misspelled and trendy. That is one bandwagon I would steer clear of.

Stick with [name]Laken[/name] or [name]Landry[/name] if you those are the names you love.

Laykin reminds me of [name]Clay[/name] [name]Aiken[/name]…and I agree with a previous poster that Landree is much too similar to laundry. Eek.

I completely agree.

I agree with everyone else. There are so many beautiful girls names out there. These are both so masculine and aren’t girl-like at all. [name]Landry[/name] reminds me of laundry and/or the resteraunt landries. [name]Laken[/name]/Laykin — it’s just not very good for a girl, [name]IMO[/name].

I really dislike both- they’re masculine, and I have to agree with the previous posters who stated that Landree/[name]Landry[/name] sound like laundry. @southern.maple’s suggestions of [name]Lake[/name] and [name]Lark[/name] are good. [name]Just[/name] no to Laykin and Landree.

No to both. Laykin’s just kind of weird…It reminds me of lycans…And then [name]Landry[/name] reminds me of Laundry. So nope nope nope.

Really dislike!
