[name_m]Leander[/name_m] has been a name we’ve been tossing around in the middle spot, but recently I’ve come to like it as a first name. I also like [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] a lot. And [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] has been on our list, albeit combo-less, for awhile. Which do you like better: [name_m]Leander[/name_m] or [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you also like [name_m]Leandro[/name_m]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any ideas for combos for either of these?
Thanks!
I like [name_m]Leander[/name_m] more. I like [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] too, but I think [name_m]Leander[/name_m] sounds more substantial as a name. It has more nickname options, and it’s unusual without being unrecognizable or unreadable. [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] is also a cute spin on the name! [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to mix and match any of these middle names as you see fit. These are just what I thought sounded good:
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Remus[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Enoch[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Altair[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_u]Mercer[/name_u]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Leander[/name_m]! [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] not quite as much, but I do love [name_m]Leander[/name_m] (and also the [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_m]Leandre[/name_m]). [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]'s fine, and I like it well enough–used to really like it–but after reading A Midsummer [name_m]Night[/name_m]'s [name_u]Dream[/name_u], I’m just not interested in it anymore. Much as I love [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], I didn’t love that play at all, and all the characters were so… I don’t even know what the right word is! lol. But I had no patience for them. I mean, [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] seemed like a nice enough guy, but quite petulant and foppish, if that makes any sense at all. lol. I like the -ander composition for boys, though, and I think [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]'s a nice (and less popular) alternative to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. [name_m]Leander[/name_m], too. I think Cassander also fits into this category.
Thank you berries! I really like [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], and [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m].
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m] actually sounds better with our last name (as does any name that ends in a vowel).
Any other thoughts?
I love [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]! I prefer the meaning, sound, and it has a great character association for me. [name_m]Leander[/name_m] always reminds me of meander and Geography lessons, not bad, but definitely not as great as [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] in my opinion. [name_m]Leandro[/name_m]'s okay too, but I guess I’m just super biased towards [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] :p. As for combos I really love [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], as well as:
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u]
I actually think these could all work for [name_m]Leander[/name_m] too, but I’ll do some for [name_m]Leander[/name_m] too.
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]Percy[/name_u]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Xavian[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
