Lee Crosslee, when nn clashes with last name

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries i have a slight name dilemma and want to know if i should scrap this name or keep it.

The problem being is i love the name [name_m]Leander[/name_m] nn [name_u]Lee[/name_u] however our last name is pronounced Crosslee (spelt differently)

Would he ever be called nn and last name together?? I know for my nn i never get it with my last name but i sometimes write it together…

Alternatively i could drop the nn [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and go for [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or ander… i suppose im just really trying to make this name work !! Does it matter if a nn clashes with a last name??

So is the consensus [name_u]Lee[/name_u] Crosslee too much???

thanks

I think [name_u]Lee[/name_u] Crosslee is bearable, particularly since he has the longer form [name_m]Leander[/name_m] to fall back on. If it’s any comfort, I know a [name_f]Leeann[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and a [name_u]Harley[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (ugh) who’ve gotten through life with no permanent emotional scars.

I love [name_m]Leander[/name_m] - are you opposed to nm [name_m]Leo[/name_m]? I prefer it to [name_u]Lee[/name_u] as a nm and it sounds better with your last name!

i personally would never call a [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_u]Lee[/name_u].

is your name really a [name_u]LEE[/name_u] sound or is it LEY? to be there is a subtle difference because [name_u]LEE[/name_u] would have a lot of emphasis on the last syllable.

can also try [name_m]LYSANDER[/name_m]

I think if the spelling is Crossley or Crossly or anything but Crosslee, it’ll be fine. [name_u]Lee[/name_u] Crosslee just looks redundant to me. The sound, however, is fine to me.

I would find [name_u]Lee[/name_u] Crosslee to be a bit redundant upon first hearing it, but I don’t think I would bat an eye at [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Crosslee.
