Leighton Elizabeth

[name_f]My[/name_f] DH brought this name to me this morning for DD.

  • [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Waye

I feel like [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye is to wordy or … im not really sure how to describe it. I like [name_u]Leighton[/name_u], but there is something about it with my last name.

What do you think ?

I actually really like the whole name. Very pretty. I don’t think you have anything to be worried about, [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye sounds great to me.

It’s the repetitive “ay” sounds of [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye. They’re too matchy. With your short surname, it’s best to avoid a name that contains the same sound. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Waye sounds great because [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sounds completely different than your last name. Eliminate names like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_f]Leila[/name_f] etc…

I love [name_u]Leighton[/name_u], but unless [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is honoring a family member, then I am so tired of it in the middle.
I love [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] as a first name. No offense.
I am thinking something like:

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] Waye

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] Waye

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] Waye

I agree that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is getting worn out in the middle spot.
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye is a little matchy, but I don’t think it sounds bad.

Maybe [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Desiree[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]

I actually think [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Waye (and [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye) sounds great. It is a mix of beautiful, sweet, and unexpected. Not all combos that rhyme are no goes. I feel that some namers have so many rules. This is your daughter and you need to choose the name you and your husband love.

One of our most famous athletes is the tennis player [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] so I cannot picture a female with the name [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] it is not an unisex name imo.

I like the name leighton elizabeth. But most of the time time, people are going to call her by her first and last name. Its a little rhyme-y for me but its not too bad. I dont think it should stop you from using it if you really like it.

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Waye sounds like a street name near me, haha. I also am not a massive fan of [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] on a girl, it just feels all boy to me. Perhaps just [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Layla[/name_f]? Laynie? In concerns with your surname, it depends on how you’re pronouncing [name_u]Leighton[/name_u]. I say it as “[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-ton” but I know [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] Meester is “[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ton”. The way I pronounce it is a bit much, but the [name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ton pronunciation works nicely.
