Lena Kara? Too much?

Thanks! I actually considered [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] as well but I think the [name_f]Lena[/name_f] from supergirl is named [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] and I think that’s a lot of matching.

They are very similar! We wont be naming a sibling so using [name_f]Kara[/name_f] for another child isnt an option. I had considered Karalena as well, I’m glad you pointed it out! I think Karalena would be a lot harder name to bare and it’s a little too similar to [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]/a for me. Thank you for the suggestions!!

I like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f]. I feel like there are quite a few musical artists with similar stage names at the moment - [name_f]Rita[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f], [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] [name_f]Cara[/name_f], etc - so [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] doesn’t sound strange to me. Plus I assume she’ll be known as [name_f]Lena[/name_f] Surname far more often than [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f]? So I think this concern is unfounded.

(And Karalena is a beautiful name!)

However, I do think if this is your one and only, then you should go with the two names that you love!

I’m third-ing or fourth-ing [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Carys[/name_f], and agreeing that [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] a little singsongy together. Does that mean it actually is too much? I mean, it just depends on your taste. There are tons of people with singsongy names in the world, and as a middle name, most people won’t ever hear the two together anyway. [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] isn’t as bad as, say, [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f] or [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Katy[/name_f] or something. What about [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? Or, you could spell it [name_f]Karaline[/name_f] probably. [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] ([name_u]Karol[/name_u], [name_f]Karolyn[/name_f]) are also similar.

I love the meaning of carys but don’t really love the sound so I cant quite get behind it! I don’t really like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or anything similar, thanks so much for the suggestions!

I agree that [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] doesn’t quite work. Have you considered using a second middle to give them some distance? If you used an M name that would give even more significance to your daughter’s name. [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] could work well.

Alternatively, [name_f]Kara[/name_f] [name_f]Lena[/name_f] has less of a sing-song feel. If you put the names together as [name_f]Kara[/name_f]-[name_f]Lena[/name_f] or Karalena you could still call your daughter [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as a nickname. I realize however that in the US [name_f]Kara[/name_f] could be mispronounced as “keer-uh”.

I had actually considered [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f] but wasnt sure if that was too many middle names and I don’t quite like the look of Maekara. [name_f]Kara[/name_f] [name_f]Lena[/name_f] does sound better but we’re pretty set her name will be [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. As you pointed out, [name_f]Kara[/name_f] will probably get mispronounced a whole bunch. Thanks for the suggestions!

I like the sound of the names together! Regardless, I think choosing a meaningful name is more important than flow, especially when talking about first and middle names.
