- Lena names

Earlier today, during a browsing session through a name list on another site, I came across many “smoosh” names that ended with -lena.

Examples:
Natalena
Emmalena
[name]Madelena[/name]
[name]Dalena[/name]

I’m not really sure how I feel about them, on one hand they sound beautiful, on another they sound very smooshy.

What do you think? I’d say Natalena is my favourite.

Well I absolutely love the nn [name]Lena[/name]. I have [name]Alena[/name] on my list for that exact reason. However, I am not a fan of these names you listed. The only one I somewhat like is Natalena but the others sound way too made up for me and “[name]Emma[/name]” names are too popular right now. Can you post a link to that name list for me? I would like to look at the other names they have on there!

I like [name]Lena[/name] on its own. But I adore [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Elena[/name], although I don’t think that would fall into this category. I think I would stay a purist on this one.

Magdelena is an old fashioned name I like to get [name]Maggie[/name] (though I like [name]Magnolia[/name] better). However, this isn’t a smoosh name.

I once saw the name Annalena [name]Marie[/name] and thought it was adorable! I like Natalena and Emmalena too.

I like Emmalena, although I don’t really think it’s a smoosh, just a variant of [name]Emmeline[/name]. I like the [name]Emelina[/name] spelling more, though. I like [name]Madelena[/name]/[name]Madelina[/name]/[name]Maddalena[/name] a lot, too, though!

I know a little Edalena. She goes by [name]Edie[/name].

So Edalena is pronounced ‘EE-dah-lee-nah’ with the hard ‘E’ sound?

I think Annalena is cute, too!! I adore the name [name]Lena[/name] on it’s own though - especially since [name]Lena[/name] is also in my family tree!
