Lenity?

I just met a little girl named Lenity, I’d never heard of it before but I think I like it. It’s like a smash between the modern [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] & [name_m]Lenox[/name_m] combined with a virtue name. What are your thoughts?

Edited: I put this in a post but I’ll add it up here. Lenity is an
actual word meaning treating others with kindness or leniency. I had to look it up! (It also has some legal terms attached to it) So for me it doesn’t seem much different than Charity or Verity etc.

Hmm, interesting. I think I’d prefer something like [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]. That extra syllable in there doesn’t appeal.

It reminds me of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] and [name_f]Liberty[/name_f]. I don’t think I’m a fan of it. Invented names always sound strange to me.

I should add having lenity means being kind or lenient towards someone else (I had to look it up and see if it was actually a thing or totally made up) so for me it feels no more made up than using [name_f]Amity[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] or [name_f]Charity[/name_f]. But I get where you’re coming from.

It’s not one that I myself would consider using but I do appreciate its uniqueness and right now I think I just have a thing for names ending in ‘ity’ I just seem to be collecting them

It is a word! Meaning treating others with kindness or leniency

Oh, I didn’t know it was a word! That’s nice to know. It’s not my style, but it’s a decent name.

Being an actual word/virtue name, I actually really like it a lot! It reminds me of [name_f]Amity[/name_f]

Lenity is actually pretty cute!

I did think immediately of leniency which sounds like someone being excused for a crime. I don’t know about this name… I’m glad it’s working for her!

It’s cute but I can’t really hear it as anything other than [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] with an L.

It has a cool sound, but it reminds me of a misspelled leniency.

I like Lenity!

It’s quirky and cool

I kind of like it! Lenity [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or Lenity [name_f]Jade[/name_f] would be cool.

Nice! ^.^

@fearlessfirefly It isn’t made up.

I think she responded already earlier in the thread acknowledging that it isn’t made up

Yep, that’s right. I had never heard of it before and didn’t know it was a word, so I assumed it was made up @skylerros

The legal term means more like leniency than kindness. So the sound is nice, but it doesn’t really work as a virtue name for me.
