Lennox and Luis/Louis/Lewis?

We’re on team green with baby No.2 and are ok with the girls names but boy oh boy the boy names are so hard. One name we both like is [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]/[name_m]Louis[/name_m]/[name_m]Luis[/name_m] BUT maybe you know it or not, there is this famous retired boxer called [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. [name_m]How[/name_m] can one man have 2 beautiful names we both like!?!? So is choosing [name_m]Luis[/name_m] or [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] now a big no no for us? [name_m]How[/name_m] many people even know this boxer? I didn’t before naming [name_u]Lennox[/name_u].

Obviously I don’t want people to think we’re crazy and we don’t care for the boxer at all. What do you think and how many of you thought of [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] when you read the title?

Thanks!

I don’t watch boxing so I’ve never heard of the guy. If he were as famous as [name_m]Manny[/name_m] Pacquiao or [name_m]Floyd[/name_m] Mayweather, I’d say it was a problem, but I take it that he isn’t.

He was really really famous in the 80s and 90s winning olympic gold and being the world champion pretty much undefeated for a long time. So anyone who likes boxing will definitely know this. [name_m]How[/name_m] many people like boxing though?

I didn’t get the boxing reference but I think [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] and [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] are different styles as well as starting with the same letter and ending with the same sounds, I think they are too similar for brothers.

I’ve never heard of [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. I don’t pronounce [name_m]Luis[/name_m], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], and [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] the same either. [name_m]Luis[/name_m] is Spanish and kind of sounds like [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is LOO-ee and [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is LOO-iss.

I think that people who are super into boxing will know, but I didn’t, haha!

Also, I like the spelling [name_m]Louis[/name_m]!

I prefer [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] because [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is Loo-ee to me

I’m shocked people haven’t heard of [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]! The boxer was my first thought. That wouldn’t bother me as much as the names being completely different styles. [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] is snazzy and modern. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] kind of seems boring in comparison. I would keep looking

Like you said, if you know boxing, you know [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. I thought of him right away. He beat [name_m]Mike[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] and Evander Holyfield. You don’t hear much about him now but he is one of the best.

I would go with [name_m]Luis[/name_m] over [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] because of that, but I do prefer [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].

I don’t think it should be a deal breaker. If you like [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], or [name_m]Louis[/name_m], go for it. There will be a few people who think of the boxer but you can just tell them you really liked both names. And that you aren’t some super fan of his. ”

I automatically think of the boxer. I’m not, like, hip to the world of boxing. I feel if I’ve heard of him, most people will have heard of him-- especially guys.

I think boxing is stupid and I’ve never willingly watched a boxing match, but even I have heard of [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].

Thank you all for your feedback and thoughts. Because of the boxer [name_m]Luis[/name_m] would be my first option if we wouldn’t have a last Spanish name. There’s tons of [name_m]Luis[/name_m] with that name out there and automatically puts the Hispanic stamp on him whereas [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is different. We’ll see, maybe I’m lucky and it’s a girl and the problem is solved. Boy names are just too hard!
