Leo or Harry for my Silent Hero?

Hello berries!

I’m in the midst of a story I’ve been working on for about two months. It’s a series of short stories revolving around four teenagers over the course of 1 year.

  • [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Mae[/name] [name]Ramsay[/name]
  • [name]Scott[/name] [name]Evan[/name] [name]Bennett[/name]
  • [name]Gabriela[/name] [name]Serafina[/name] [name]Ramirez[/name] nn [name]Gabi[/name]

What about the fourth you may ask? There lies the problem. I’ve been alternanting between [name]Leonardo[/name] [name]Fabiano[/name] [name]Silva[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Harold[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Silva[/name] nn [name]Harry[/name]. His personality is funny and optomistic, but is stoic and quiet, yet overwhelmed with his family life. (Quick fact: I’d like to use a nickname!)

Any help is welcome and greatly appreciated!

Anyone? :expressionless:

[name]Leo[/name]. I think it’s probably best to avoid using the names of major literary characters (in this case, [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]). Anyway, I think it fits him better.

Thank you, irisrose! I didn’t think about the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] aspect until after the fact.

I don’t see any problem with using [name]Harry[/name], but I think [name]Leo[/name] fits him better. However, I think if you used [name]Leonardo[/name], DeSilva would have much more flow, rather than [name]Silva[/name]. [name]Leo[/name] DeSilva sounds great!

If you don’t want to use [name]Leonardo[/name] but still want [name]Leo[/name] as a nickname another you could use is [name]Leopoldo[/name]. Also [name]David[/name] sounds really nice in spanish and english and you could use [name]Dave[/name]/[name]Davey[/name] as a nickname.

I know a guy with the last name [name]Silva[/name]. He is Brazilian/Italian/Lebanese. If you pick [name]Leonardo[/name] it will sound true to his heritage (in my opinion) and if you choose [name]Harold[/name] he will sound American.

I am also going to say [name]Leo[/name]. [name]Harry[/name] is too [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] [name]IMO[/name].
