Leo vs. Eli - Which one would you choose if you had to choose one?

Which would you choose if you had to choose between [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m]? Why?

Possible middle names include [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], Cruze, [name_u]Grey[/name_u], [name_m]Hale[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u].

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] for me, though I like [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] (family surname) is actually extremely high on my list if I ever have another boy.

I really like [name_m]Eli[/name_m].

I’d choose [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is adorable, yet masculine and ages well. [name_f]My[/name_f] dog is named [name_m]Eli[/name_m], and it kind of feels incomplete to me.

We have very similar tastes  i love [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], and [name_u]Grey[/name_u]! [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] are my top picks

[name_m]Leo[/name_m], all the way! I think it’s such a handsome, fabulous name. I respect [name_m]Eli[/name_m] as a name, but I don’t love it.

Combos:
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]

[name_m]Eli[/name_m]! I like them as nicknames only and prefer the full name [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] over all the [name_m]Leo[/name_m]- names.

I would do [name_m]Eli[/name_m] because it sounds more manly. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]

I love [name_m]Eli[/name_m] a tad more, because it sounds a little less “nicknamey” than [name_m]Leo[/name_m], which for me is more like a shorter version of [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] / [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] AND has been everywhere in Europe over the past few years (I live in Belgium and it feels like every other international family has an [name_m]Adam[/name_m] or a [name_m]Leo[/name_m], though both are lovely names). And I also think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] sound amazing and timeless together …

[name_m]Leo[/name_m], definitely.

I’m not really a short fn sort of person. Somehow three letters always feels a little incomplete to me. If you were going for a longer name with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or [name_m]Eli[/name_m] as a nn I’d pick [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]Leon[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] (this would be my very top pick), [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]Hale[/name_m], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]…

As a three letter fn I think I’d probably choose [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Eli[/name_m] Cruze, [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u].

I prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m]- it’s a strong and simple masculine name.
[name_m]Eli[/name_m] sounds quite religious to my ear- and it reminds me of many popular girls names- [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

Two great names! [name_f]My[/name_f] vote would be for [name_m]Leo[/name_m] - I always wanted a son named Leo, but when I met my future husband, he already had a dog named that. [name_f]My[/name_f] second baby boy option was [name_m]Eli[/name_m], but it just recently got used my two family members. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] sound wonderful. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] also sounds great to me, but [name_m]Leo[/name_m] gets the edge. So sweet and strong at the same time.

Eli definitely.
I know so many people with pets named Leo- it will never be a human name to me.

[name_m]Eli[/name_m] is a good name, but imo [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is great! I feel like they are both a nn, though. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] for [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] for [name_m]Leander[/name_m].

If you choose [name_m]Leo[/name_m] alone, I’d go with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u]. If you used [name_m]Leander[/name_m], my favorite combo would be [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] (this spelling).

Actually I really like [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u], nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]!

These would be the full names. We don’t want a repeat of the whole [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] called [name_m]Jack[/name_m] 99.99% of the time situation again.

Definitely [name_m]Leo[/name_m], I like the longer versions as well. I don’t know why, but I’m not a big fan of [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. That was not intentional :P.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a recent addition to my list so I would go for it instead of [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. I have always felt that [name_m]Eli[/name_m] need a longer form such as [name_u]Elias[/name_u] or [name_m]Elian[/name_m].

I would choose [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] was my #1 boy name for quite some time and I still like it a lot. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] just doesn’t sound nice to me, I fail to see the appeal. As far as middles go, I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] sounds great with all of them but [name_m]Hale[/name_m].

Firstly, both [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] ARE full names. It drives me crazy when people say that a full name is needed for either one of these gems. Nothing more is needed if they’re already full standalone names. They pack a punch in just three letters. [name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] are strong and masculine names of depth and history. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names sound great with your son’s name. However, [name_m]Eli[/name_m] sounds a bit better with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] sounds a tad better with [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. If you call your son [name_m]Jack[/name_m] exclusively then I woud choose [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] would be my combo pick from your options.
