Leocadia?

Can I get some thoughts on [name]Leocadia[/name]? This is a name I came across a while back and am starting to like. If I ever used it, it would be a middle name for something short and simple like [name]Jane[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Maude[/name], [name]Anne[/name], etc. My only concern with it is that it might be too exotic, I guess? My favorite names are pretty tame and old-fashioned…

[name]How[/name] do you rate [name]Leocadia[/name]?

Ha ha ha I just posted this as a middle suggestion! I really love it, it has such a pleasant sound and history and yet is basically unused. I don’t think it’s too exotic for the middle. I have really conservative taste on the whole and would consider strongly it if there weren’t other names I felt a stronger family connection to. I think it’s gorgeous. I think [name]Leo[/name] is familiar from boys and from girls names too like [name]Leonora[/name], also tangentially from [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name], and cadia sounds familiar from Accadia, and even from [name]Katie[/name].

Of the short simple names you listed I really like [name]Jane[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name]. [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] is OK but the l’s bump into each other and I also think [name]Pearl[/name] is a little bit image specific together with [name]Leocadia[/name]. Neutral [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] work better. [name]Maude[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] is also OK, the d’s are a little repetitive but it’s OK, I’m just not a huge [name]Maude[/name] fan personally. I think [name]Eve[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] are two other nice options.

I love [name]Leocadia[/name] and I do like it up front, it’s very luxurious and flowing - but it may work better in the middle. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name].

I really like [name]Leocadia[/name] and the sound is great! I don’t think it’s too much for a first name as it can have [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kade[/name] or [name]Katie[/name]/[name]Kadie[/name] as a nickname, [name]Dia[/name], [name]Lia[/name]…etc.

I agree with dantea, btw, despite my personal conservatism - I do think [name]Leocadia[/name] could work as a first especially with nn’s (and with siblings with names that were somewhat mathed for rarity) and I would love to see someone use it, middle or first!

Your post was what made me think of it, actually!

Also wanted to add that [name]Jane[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Maude[/name], and [name]Anne[/name] aren’t necessarily names I would pair with [name]Leocadia[/name]. I was just giving you all examples of names I considered short and simple. Basically, I like a one syllable first name with [name]Leocadia[/name] as the middle. Suggestions are welcome.

Aww small world : D! [name]Glad[/name] to revive your love for her!

Gotchya on [name]Jane[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Maude[/name], and [name]Anne[/name]. Well despite that misunderstanding I’ll stand by [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] for pairing with [name]Leocadia[/name] : D and I also really do like [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Eve[/name]. [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] also work well to my ears (I know many might not like the alliteration with [name]Lucy[/name] like I do). [name]Ruby[/name] maybe? [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name] is pretty bold but still delightful to me. [name]Olive[/name] even might work, not usually a name I care for and it is two somewhat unusual names, but that said I think the flow is really good.

That is beautiful! I have never heard of it before, but I think it is stunning - and definitely usable. It would make a great middle name. I really like the idea of [name]Rose[/name] [name]Leocadia[/name], personally.

My thoughts exactly. [name]Leo[/name] for a tomboy, [name]Lea[/name], [name]Cady[/name], [name]Dia[/name], [name]Cay[/name], [name]Leona[/name]…a strong resemblance to [name]Arcadia[/name]…I would love to see it up front. [name]Leocadia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] would be divine.

I’ve never heard [name]Leocadia[/name] before - I like it!

[name]Love[/name] it! I have the Polish version ([name]Leokadia[/name]) on my list and like the idea of [name]Leda[/name] for a nickname.

I really like it! It’s quirky and not too complicated, and I love the sound of it:)
