Like? Dislike? NN’s? MN’s? Suggestions? Comments?
I’ve always liked the name. It has a sweet sound and is relatively short but it is so popular here that I crossed it off my list a long time ago
but I think it’s relatively unknown in the USA.
As for nn I could only think of [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I like the name [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]. If you like that name you could also give [name_f]Leona[/name_f].
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] means lioness and the name is [name_m]French[/name_m](I like [name_m]French[/name_m] names!)
Some nicknames [name_u]Lee[/name_u] or [name_f]Onie[/name_f]. It’s really your choice. For a middle name do you have any ideas? Here are mine:
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
And that’s the only one I could think of.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]~[name_u]Simone[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u]~[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]~[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]~[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] ~ Lydian [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I love it! I think it’s very sweet and charming. [name_m]How[/name_m] about these for the middle:
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] does have a sweet sound but I can’t hear it anymore, there’s always a [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] somewhere.
NN: little_billie’s suggestions of [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Lea[/name_f] are the ones I thought of as well. Maybe even [name_f]Nia[/name_f]?
MN: I like [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] -> many two-syllable names sound great with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f].
I think one of the things that bothered me with this name is how it starts out as very bold and then gets so utterly sweet because usually I’m a big fan of [name_m]Leo[/name_m]- and -ie names.
I like it, but I prefer [name_f]Leona[/name_f]. I like the sound of [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. how about
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
I have a very dear friend called [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and I wouldn’t mind if there would be more of them around.
I think it is popular in Europe.
I don’t know any in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] named [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and it’s one of my favourite names right now. [name_f]Do[/name_f] I just not know people named this or is the popularity of this name isolated to Europe?
Looks like it’s #9 in [name_f]Austria[/name_f] right now. I have heard of two in my larger community, but both in [name_m]French[/name_m]-Canadian families. It’s beautiful. I love the nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. You could also do [name_f]Leni[/name_f].
I adore Léonie. It’s beautiful without being too sugary.
I really like [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and also [name_f]Leona[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lea[/name_f]/[name_m]Leo[/name_m] names in general.
