Leonine?

[name_m]How[/name_m] would your pronounce [name_f]Leonine[/name_f] and picture does it invoke?

Thanks!

I pronounce [name_f]Leonine[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-o-neen. I picture a girl/woman who is arty, sophisticated, intelligent, strong, perhaps a bit quirky.

I would pronounce it [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-oh-neen, and I picture an eccentric, compassionate woman in middle age.

[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-oh-nine but I’d be unsure if that was right. It evokes images of lions to me…

Thank you! I have a grandma whose name is Leolyn. So I thought might be a nice nod.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it?

“[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-uh-neen”, like the word. It’s got a pretty sound, but it feels a little bit like using [name_f]Feline[/name_f] or Canine as a name — maybe a bit too descriptive? I prefer the lovely [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Leontine[/name_f].

I would say it [name_u]LEE[/name_u]-oh-neen. For me it conjures up images of stars and the cosmos.

[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-oh-nin for me.

Thank you!!

I would pronounce it [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-o-neen. I think that it is a nice nod to Leolyn.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love! I would pronounce it [name_m]Leo[/name_m]-neen

I originally read it as lee-oh-nine, but lee-oh-neen does sound more correct.
I really like using twists on grandparents names to bring a bit more life into the name while still giving a nod to them.

[name_m]Le[/name_m]-oh-nine is how I’d pronounce it, and it makes me think along the lines of a regal Victorian queen or ancient mythology.
