I choose, Vintage, Romantic and Clunky. To me, it’s similar to things like [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f], for me, is little-girl-grave, golden, elegant, strong, and feminine without being fussy. Names like this:
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Flavia[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Maud[/name_f] / [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Daria[/name_f]
[name_f]Helene[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
I voted ‘clunky’ because of the ‘o’. It’s hard to make my mouth say [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]–I like [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] a lot more.
For me [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is Vintage, Romantic, [name_u]Unique[/name_u] and Elegant. Beautiful would be another.
I would say somewhere between Old Fashioned, Romantic, and Clunky. I’d describe it as elegant and strong, but a little dusty maybe.
Thanks for all your feedback, it’s really helped clear things up. I like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], [name_f]Helene[/name_f], [name_f]Maud[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] and [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] so far, thanks for your suggestions.
My god-daughter is called [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m], I have always loved the name!! I voted for old-fashioned, romantic and elegant.

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is definitely a romantic name!
Now this might sound odd, as others have said it’s difficult to say out loud, but the way it rolls when you say it is like silk, its very poetic to me and enjoyable to say (like [name_f]Lenore[/name_f])! Like a lot of Italian names & words!
Swap it for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and it changes from poetic romantic to vintage - I wouldn’t say [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] was ‘vintage’. It’s the same with [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] (romantic) vs [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] (vintage).
I think it fits the following:
Romantic
Poetic
Beautiful
Operatic
[name_u]Unique[/name_u]
Girls names I would put in the same category as [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]:
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
Lots and lots of A ending names fit the romantic category!!!
It’s a pretty name, one I’ve considered but I always feel it needs an Italian heritage to pull it off.
I’m also not keen on the [name_f]Nora[/name_f] part, the one I knew was known by that nickname to the chagrin of her parents
Thanks again for your feedback and suggestions! I’m liking [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]. @darceydaisy your description of the sound was lovely to read and I definitely agree with you on it.
I voted for elegant! It reminds me of royalty. Probably because of princess [name_f]Leonore[/name_f] of [name_u]Sweden[/name_u]. I also think it’s romantic & old fashioned (in a good way). It has a bit a spunk too, especially with the nickname “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]”. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name overall, good luck!
